I have this in two systems.. one with a 4090 and other with 3090ti. It's a monster, for $200 and if you are on AM4 it's a no brainer. Crushes games and work.

My daily driver CPU. Paid $550 for it at launch and it was worth every penny. Still has 0 problems with any gaming and video editing I do.

Built my new system with this CPU when it first came out. Has been amazing, never a hiccup in performance. I use a MSI Mag Coreliquid 360r cooler, works great.

But if you buy this now. It will be difficult to jump in the possible 5950x or 5900xt deal in the future…

The GPU does the heavy lifting anyways, so spend your money on the gpu

Have one on an MSI x370 sli plus, and its been great. The motherboard struggles a bit with PBO and curve optimizer, but its rock solid with just PBO and stock limits. I've used two different 280mm AIOs with this, and both suck absolute ass. A cheap peerless assassin air cooler holds down temps better under load. This is probably due to waterblock mass. I see a HUGE delta between CPU and coolant temps, like 80º at the CPU and only 35º water temp. Just something to be aware of, since its evidentally considered normal and quite common.

Anyway, for 200 bucks, its a hall of an upgrade from an earlier ryzen, as long as your motherboard received bios updates to support it. I'm glad I went this direction. It bought me some time to wait for AM5 to hit it's stride, and for prices to come down to earth.

Decent price and CPU. Like it over 3900X. Picked a Microcenter open box item for $175 back in July. AM4 is still good considering the price.

If you're at all gaming get a X3D, even a 5700x3d. The two 6 core ccds make this not the greatest for games.

To be honest, I actually maybe not need such a powerful cpu but somehow I will be happy if I can maximize my current am4 platform while I don't really use it that much since I am on a laptop most time…

I want to put this in a 1u chassis rack mounted.

Can anyone suggest what motherboard will be used to support this? Also I need to put it in a 1u chassis and rack mounted this for home network.

Any guidance is appreciated
