I have the 3/8 fuel version of this with the higher torque and faster spin, as well as the 3/8 extended reach, and 1/2 high torque rachet, I do not use the extended reach at all, nor the 1/2 high torque. As a car guy DIY'er, it's a massive convienence for fastening longer bolt and unfastening many. I tend to use a 1/4 adapter on these, as I think the 1/4 head would be more useful. For $53, this and a 3/8 M12 Stubby and 1/2 M18 Mid-Torque takes care of 99.99% of my jobs.

I have this ratchet and the first generation fuel 3/8-in ratchet. This is the tool I grabbed first unless I know it's a high torque fastener. Lighter, smaller, handier. That said, I've been shopping for an extra one of these for our second home, and I think I'll probably stick with some combo deal rather than pay close to full price on woot.

I would think extended reach version would be more useful
will second what others said. the short form of this is more useful than the extended reach. if you can only have one, buy this. if you can buy a 2nd, the extended reach will get used occasionally, but not often. this will still be the go-to.

YMMV, but this has been my experience.

btw, definitely buy one of these if you ever do any type of mechanical work. they are seriously amazing. biggest tool gamechanger in the past 2 decades, easily.

Good points. Prob will cancel and wait since i have nothing big rn. Ty
counter point... i have the non fuel and my friend has the fuel. there have been numerous times where the smaller head of this fits in places the fuel does not.

the speed and torque on the fuel are noticeable, but not missed by me when i go from using his to mine.

for my needs, even if they were the same price, id still buy this one. but if i was only using it in open areas with no size concerns, id spend a tad more for the fuel. not the difference they typically are though.

I don't recall the itemized price of this, when the home depot hacks were posted. If the bundles include several other tools that are desired, then it's hard to assess equivalent costing for those that don't need the others.

If you're talking eBay as close to full price, sure, sellers disassemble bundles and buyers can get lucky on bids to get one less than $69.

Whoa!, and I'd been just thinking, "... shopping for an extra one of these for our second ..." _toolbox. Wink

Old design & brushed would rightfully be a hard pass for most tools, but if there's an M12 Hall of Fame this tool would be a charter member, it performs and has aged so well that it's still worth owning, especially if purchased under $70. The power & efficiency of brushless is not a huge advantage here because this thing runs forever on a lowly old 2.0Ah, and developing hundreds of ft-lbs of torque is not what you want with this type of tool unless your goal is to be in a wrist splint for the next 3 months.

Honestly it is my only m12 tool. It is simply that useful. Well.. It was. I ended up also getting the stubby impact and the 2 tools are a great combo. Don't feel the need to buy any more of them, but I basically carry those 2 and an impact set with me everywhere.

I honestly am not trying to sound like a milwaukee salesman. I just really like this tool that much, lol.

Did anyone get an email with a free T-shirt with the shipping notice? I did, a $19 T-shirt credit for buying this.

Is the Home Depot hack for this ratchet worth jumping on? $79.19 when paired with the Drill/Driver set.
