What is not to like about this deal? Seems like a truly slick deal! I wish it had the numeric keyboard, but beyond that it checks every block for me!

I bought this laptop about a month ago with 32GB of ram and Windows 11 Pro and I can't say enough good things about it.

Absolutely it has been awesome with this laptop from last 3 months. There was another slick deal which had 32GB ram and same specifications like this one. It's been super smooth.

Yes indeed, I posted that too. It was $100 more than this.

At this price and specification I do not mind the weight. Bear in mind this is gaming laptop and not an ultrabook.

And use some discounts and cashback I got 32GB one for around 950$

I had a G15 a few years ago that was creaked and felt cheap. It also ran hot and constantly thermally throttled. I switched to a Lenovo Legion and the experience is 10x better.

How is the typing on this? Are they tactile/audible switches like Cherry Blues or Browns, or silent and sensitive like Reds, or…?

The review I read said keys were somewhat mushy.

That said, this is an amazing deal for a laptop with these specs and if you have specific typing needs you're probably better off buying an external keyboard to be truly happy.

G series laptops are their budget gaming laptops. If you'll use it as an actual laptop you will be absolutely disappointed with the build quality.

My typing needs are to not have the same experience as I did when I tried Cherry Reds. I get that those are great for gamers and perfect typists, but I found all I could do was make long strings of typos because there was no resistance at all to the keys and breathing on them was enough to trigger a key press. In theory I think I could handle Browns or even Blues, but honestly I'm probably best with rubber domes and other cheap stuff. I'm not a gamer. I look for higher end laptops for programming and multimedia work. Mushy actually sounds good, so thanks!

The good doctor delivers!

This looks like a smoking deal on a gaming laptop with a very nice screen that will play all but the very top tier games at ultra settings.

Review:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/2...eview.html

Pros
  • CPU performance is excellent.
  • GPU has full power of 140W.
  • Very nice QHD screen with good refresh rate and 497 Nits according to the review.
  • Good cooling solution.
  • Upgradeable RAM.
  • Thunderbolt 4 port and overall good port selection.
Cons
  • Display is not OLED.
  • Power brick is huge.
  • 5.5 hours of battery life.
This machine has everything you want for a gaming laptop and nothing in the Cons section would be a deal breaker for me. If you want a similar machine with better battery life you can keep an eye out for a deal with an AMD Zen 5 or Intel Core Ultra CPU, but you'll likely have to pay more or compromise on GPU for a similar price.

Actually I misspoke. It looks like this particular model does come with the "US English Cherry MX RGB Backlit Mechanical Keyboard with G-Key" so the keyboard will be that.
"Downgrading" to the standard keyboard shows a price of $1,699 before coupons for me.
