Got two fans. The open box one was an obvious return. It was dirty, missing the remote, and the base was broken. Complete trash.

Be careful with open box, could get crap. But they do have good c/s.

Yeah, I've been pretty lucky. Furniture is a bit more of a crapshoot, imo. They're good at refunding/returns if something is wrong.

If these are from the same seller as the previous deal, I got my Vornado tower fan yesterday. It arrived with a HUGE hole punched into the side of the box. I sent photos and they responded quickly. They offered a free return, or a $7 partial rebate to keep the fan as is.

Same here! The box of the brand new Vornado 533XT I bought from them also has a huge hole punched into the side of the box. I thought they intentionally did this to prevent us from reselling the clearance products.
I haven't unboxed it yet and I wonder if I should contact them as well.

33" fan is weak and doesn't have auto movement. You have to manually set the fins. It's so cheap. Avoid.

Target had it on sale for $30 not long ago. I bought one and promptly returned it.

Last time I bought an open-box fan from them, the remote control was missing.
Their response, "Tough luck. We can offer you a 7$ refund or a return."
Laughable. So I just returned the fan.
Maybe sooner or later they'll actually inspect the returns they resell.

Edit: Some of these fans appear to be NEW not just Open Box, and the coupon still works on those too.
Check the reviews though, a lot of these fans get some pretty bad reviews; cheap materials, noisy motors, etc.
Probably why they ended up on clearance.

Mine just arrived today and the Holmes Tower fan I ordered came with a huge hole in the side of the box as well! Also the whole top of the box was opened, wasn't even taped shut! I haven't checked the fan out yet, but it's probably missing the remote too since the box was completely opened with a big hole in it. How can they even ship things like that??
