LN1301 is wifi 6, this one is wifi 5. $15 for pack of 2 is very good deal. VLP0102-NP currently sell for $35 in Amazon.

The MX10600 is 2.2ghz with 1gb ram tri-band:
It has 2 Wifi 5 (2.4ghz and 5ghz 2) and 1 WIFI 6 (5ghz 1) bands

The MX8000 is 1.4 ghz with 1gb ram tri-band:
It has 1 Wifi 5 band (2.4ghz) and 2 wifi 6 (5ghz 1 & 2) bands

The MX10600 is made up of 2 MX5300 nodes.
the MX8000 is made up of 2 MX4000 nodes.

The MX4000 nodes are comparable to the LN130 (AX4200/AX4300) except the MX4000 is 200mbps slower on one of the 5ghz bands. Same specs otherwise other than ram. (LN1301 has 2gb ram instead of one since it was purpose built for a Fortinet security app to be running on it before they scrapped the idea and liquidated them).

The MX10600 would be faster if you use a wired backhaul as it only has 1 wifi 6 5ghz band.

The MX8000 will be faster if you use wireless backhaul only as it has 2 5ghz wifi 6 bands.

Any of these better than the ln1301 $15 routers that we've seen before? Or all around the same?

The AX5300 set is pretty equivalent.

Only single channel 5ghz, but full 160mhz bandwidth compared to the 80mhz of the LN1301.

$25 each (for the 3-pack) after coupon is not bad, considering it will probably be more supported by Linksys than the LN1301.

Edit: The MX8000 set is nearly the same router as the MX4200/LN1301 and is $45 for a pair as well.

Do we know if the MX4200 that comes in the MX8000 package is v1 or v2? If it's v1, it's really not "nearly the same", as it has half the NAND and 1/4 the RAM. The v2 has half the RAM of the LN1301, but 1GB should be enough for everything but the most advanced users of OpenWRT.

I need a device that supports like 100 devices. After all the wifi enabled smart stuff in this house it's made it unstable. Recommendations?

This review has some comparison of the mx4200 and Atlas pro mx5300. The atlas pro mx5300 main advantage is it can do 160mhz on 5ghz band. Otherwise it has less RAM, flash, is only dual core and only dual band.
Also it doesn't look like there is already opener support for the Atlas pro 6. Might be possible to add support since it's a Qualcomm chipset.
A better option is the mx10600 two pack of mx5300. I bought when it was 2x the price. Openwrt works fine on it. It's 4x4 ac on 2.4 and one 5 ghz radio and one 4x4 ac 5ghz radio. The CPU is faster than the mx4200/ln1301 too.
