I have this one, and I love it. The sound is good; awesome bass; can get very, very loud if you need it to.

When I bought it a couple of years ago, everything else at this price point was utter rubbish, including the TCL 2.1 sets.

Is there absolutely any difference between this and this (V20x-J8) and the older V20-J8 model? I have the older model and like it well enough. Considering another one for my bedroom.

I bought a Vizio sound bar from Costco 1 1/2-2 yrs ago and the volume control goes to Full Max uncontrollably. Tried unplugging, hard reset, messing with remotes/tv setting but can not figure how to stop the volume going to full max. I' think it's the soundbar itself. Newer Sony tv and firestick. Using hdmi to soundbar. Idk

Also, since I only have room for a soundbar no external subwoofer, should I get this or wait till there's a deal that includes an integrated subwoofer/2.1? Would that be more worth it?

A $55 compact sound bar (24") would have a hard time achieving true stereo separation
Dolby Atmos is a dream !!
The only way a sound bar might come close to achieving Atmos would be with high satt speakers.

Pity Amazon's "Rufus" says there's no subwoofer output connection. (I don't really want to find out if HDMI ARC would coexist with my current audio extractor box)

This is a 2.1 setup, so Atmos is irrelevant.

It can decode Dolby and DTS, so there's nothing that won't play on it.

Awesome, in for one. Needed a small sound bar for our camper TV. The speakers on it are garbage. Love that it doubles as a bluetooth speaker that we can use outside.
