Is this really a good deal? At $4k your sorta in the territory where you can get a whole house generator and automatic transfer switch tied into the natural gas line which will power so much more than these little batteries. Ex the 22kW Honeywell (Generac) has been on sale at Costco for under $4.5k within the past year. And you can run your house air conditioning with that much power!
Maybe if this was under $1k and you were considering it vs a portable gas generator it might be an option worth considering but not seeing the value here

Costco doesn't say it's originally $7400.

Costco does not list list prices. They are on the ecoflow site: https://us.ecoflow.com/products/d...er-station You will see that list is 3700/unit + COSTO throws in the cables to connect them.

How long will something like this run a 12k window unit AC?

Was considering whole option but complete noob. We don't have natural gas, so does that mean it's not an option for us? Obviously I have those 5 gallon propane tanks but I assume you need something bigger as an alternative fuel?

Honestly, I think electric Electric generator only makes sense for people who has solar and can charge it for free. Otherwise, it is cheaper and more convenient to buy just traditional gasoline generator to for home back up. You still need a transfer switch.

I dont know about a window unit, but a 12k minisplit is about 7-8A at 240V, so 2000w. 7200w/2000w= 3.6hrs.

The real down side to these is that each only takes in 1600w, 3200w total. Hopefully your AC wont run all day, but solar would barely keep a mini split topped off during the day. I guess im saying a 12k dedicated solar main panel is like 2000$ and will accept 12000w solar. No batteries in that price, but its the better way to go for off grid. Ecoflows are more camping and RV setups

Another perspective to consider: I have the Anker Solix F3800 and a medium inverter generator (4000w). There's no natural gas where I live, and burying a 500g propane tank is not an option so a fixed whole home generator is a no go. When we get hit by hurricanes, it's generally not safe to roll the generator out until the storm and the outer bands have passed. A large battery backup can keep your refrigerators/freezers cold and the internet up (providing your ISP is still working and you maintain connectivity) until it's safe to get the generator running. For Milton, we lost power 3 hours before landfall, and we had TS storm winds for probably 7.5 total hours. We had similar numbers for Ian, even a fully packed almost new fridge raised from 34 to 50 in that amount of time.

TL;DR - I agree this isn't really a good deal for most people

Keep in mind that it is quite expensive to install one of these. You're talking anywhere from $6-$15K.

Ok deal for the combo if that's what you're in the market for. This was $4000 at Costco a month ago or so, and Costco's return policy is attractive.

Re: gas generators, NG whole home generators - really different kinds of tools. Those will have lower upfront cost relative to capacity, and higher maintenance and fueling cost - for use only in emergencies.

The Delta Pros with solar can be used every day, for peak shaving or just taking certain loads off-grid - emergency or not.

In my area they bury 300-500 gallon propane tanks in the yard to power the generators.
