I bought 2 and both were DOA. Kinda made me skeptical of their testing/refurbishing. I bought two from another seller on different occasions and both are fine. But I read about more positive experiences from them than mine. Return was pretty seamless as well.

these are SATA drives, you can use them on your desktop computer, they also provide a power adapter in case you need it.

I bought 4, one was DoA, replacement via customer service was easy, quick, and even came with a new power disable cable so now I have an extra. If I had use for more I wouldn't hesitate.

I received two bad drives in a row (loud grinding noise on one and both failed an extended surface test using HD Sentinel). Really want this to work but been hesitant to try a third time. Customer service was helpful though. Seems like many other folks do have good luck with these overall.

Why is this deal posted again? Or is it a different drive?

It goes in and out of stock, causing expired deals.

I bought two of these. I was very happy to see that both are healthy drives and they work great in the NAS.

Last time I bought from this exact listing, the HDD wouldn't spin up unless I used the included adapter. The listing doesn't tell you that though. I wanted to connect to an external drive so I just put some kapton tape on two of the pins and it spun up. That's probably a bad idea, but I won't miss the data on the HDD if something were to happen.

Thanks for this. I got in on the Synology 1522+ lightning deal earlier this week. Still waiting for it to ship.

Any noteworthy benefit getting these over WD? I know WD owns HGST, but there's like a $30 difference between the this and a WD branded drive
