These paper towels are very thin and low quality. They absorb very little. I'd estimate that I used twice as many sheets as standard bounty paper towels for the same job.

Quality wise not sure but costco is 1026 sqft total and this 825 sqft , costco are $19 i think vs $12.xx so this ones are cheaper, i will give them a try

Pretty sure it's location specific in most cases; Amazon isn't going to want to spend extra money shipping overstock paper towels to people 1200 miles away. They likely have higher margin items coming in and a cost-benefit analysis determined the price.

EDIT: Also not dead for me in NorCal.
