Something something Lightroom killer.. didn't I hear that a million times before.

I am somewhat a hobbyist and am looking for a real LR alternative for like forever. Nope, none works the same way LR does if you happen to take about few hundred pictures every time (which isn't all that much, if you use burst mode at all).

That's is because Lightroom is not just a photo editor, it is, first and foremost, a catalog, all tools and effecti within LR is nondestructive, every change is made in a "mask" saved in a database and your origin picture isn't impacted. You don't suddenly have multiple versions of the same pictures to manage. it manages all your photos, import and categorize them.

What most of the so called Lightroom killer, is actually doing Photoshop things, and they maybe pretty good at those, but Photoshop is not a Lightroom replacement, and neither is any of those product.

Photopea has become my go to for photoshop work. Adobe is such a money sucking machine.
Photopea is enough for my needs. It is such a great project and deserves all the praise it has received.

This is a great deal, even after the purchase of $10 of unneeded product.

The 1TB Photography plan is pretty consistently 50% off but rare to see a discount outside of that. You have to wonder how many people actually pay full price for it.

99% of my work is in Lightroom. There is no competition for this product that has a perpetual license. I held onto Lightroom 6 (the last perpetual version) for way longer than I should have, and while I hate paying for it every year, there aren't many good options to replace it with.

Anybody who says that Photopea or Affinity is a good replacement has no idea what Lightroom is used for or the workflow. This package comes with a Photoshop license and I've opened it about 5 times total. It's just not needed with Lightroom unless you are doing a very in depth edit.

I already have an adobe photography annual plan that runs until June 2025. I don't think my plan has the 1TB cloud storage with it. Does anybody know what will happen if I buy this? Will enabling this plan overlap with my current plan (so I end up wasting a bunch of months) or will it tack on to the end of my current plan, pushing my expiration to June 2026? I don't really care about the 1 TB cloud storage.

I purchased this deal but with the 20GB plan that I already have. I am in the same boat as you. It was a few bucks cheaper than this deal.

Any idea if the photo paper can be returned while keeping the software's discount?
I have redeemed my code and I'm going to just not pick up the photo paper and see what happens.

Buy something physical, get a discount on software rental.

There's a joke in there, but typing that just made me die a little more inside.

Oh wait there it is

Exactly. From what I read even photoshop element has a 3 year time bomb that stops working. Crazy if true.
It's true for the 2025 version. I guess making more than $18B profit a year is not enough for Adobe -- need to squeeze more. It works great for them though lol

Wait until your 20GB plan expires, then redeem the 1TB code. If you redeem it now it will run concurrently.

So I can wait when to start the new subscription plan? Or does it start at date of purchase?

best I've seen with CC is $80/yr. I looked at your link...you need to go back to school for reading comprehension....it's $20/mo....not a year.
not only that but he replied to my acrobat pro question which requires even a higher plan. which is $420 a yr for student and teacher like i quoted.

and of course that shut him up for good.

The subscription doesn't start until you redeem the code.
