You'll want it in a darker room for the best effect. If you don't have a dark room, a QLED might probably better for a brighter location.

LG, Samsung, and Sony all make very good OLEDs. This is one of those things where you really need to go to a store and experience them first hand for yourself, though, to see what you like.

BTW, the free extended warranty at Costco (and also Sam's Club, as it is the same Allstate warranty) does not cover OLED burn-in. The Best Buy extended warranty does cover it, if that makes a difference to you (though, the extended warranties are almost always not free at Best Buy unless you happen to catch a sale that includes it).

For this particular TV, the Costco/Sam's models are better than the retail ones as they have better WIFI (the retail C3 has WIFI 5, while the Costco/Sam's warehouse models come with WIFI 6).

Sony Bravia are the "best" but we are talking 2x to 3x the cost of this.

Anything with an LG panel, which also includes other companies like sony and Philips.

LG has been refining their oled panels for over a decade now.

Samsung's qd oled panels are incredible too and the researchers that discovered it I believe won nobel prizes for their discovery. It just doesn't have the level of refinement of LG, I would personally expect the LG panels to last longer.

I have a c1 from a few years ago and it's still pristine, I watch tv and play games, it's used very regularly and brightness hasn't been an issue but glare can be distracting.

Remember, the bigger the panel, the harder it is to avoid glare. These panels are just better without any lighting.

The picture quality either way is incredible, it's like we went from black and white to color all over again

Samsung QD oled with calibration is probably the best picture right now but I'd buy this tv for less money over a C4

I'd grab a c3 or c4 on a good deal as they just work as intended.

They are not similar specs and the biggest issue w/ these mid-tier (C series) is that it doesn't have the brightness of better OLED and these have offcenter green tint. However if you don't really care about eye blistering HDR then these are excellent. If you must have greater HDR contrast and brightness a QD-LED is your best bet (similar $) at expense of some color gamut and contrast ratio. So you need to decide what tradeoffs you want unless you can drop $3k.

The next step up after these WLED are WLED with MLA and QLED (G series). There are also newer generations coming up in the next few years that will do away w/ WLED most likely but if you needed to buy TODAY a C3/C4 can be had for a good deal assuming you don't hang your hat on HDR brightness. I saw 65" for $1100 the other day Walmart/Beach Camera.

You also have BF coming up and TV are not selling so there will be more deals if it's not an emerg.

What is a very good cheaper alternative to a LG C3 to use as a pc monitor for gaming? I have used C1 for almost 3 years now and it is time for an upgrade. Very happy with the C1.

I want a tv to watch DC universe movies and other shows with really dark scenes. I have too much blooming now in my tcl series 5. Is this what I want? We don't watch tv in the dark but mostly in the evening with one lamp that is kitty corner from the tv mount.

Have the 65" c2. Great tv. No blooming as every pixel individually lit. Inky blacks. Please note tend to have a glossy screen and glare. Not as bright as other tech. I would go for oled unless in a really bright room all the time. But there are plenty of great TVs out there, each type has its advantages.
