You'll want it in a darker room for the best effect. If you don't have a dark room, a QLED might probably better for a brighter location.

LG, Samsung, and Sony all make very good OLEDs. This is one of those things where you really need to go to a store and experience them first hand for yourself, though, to see what you like.

BTW, the free extended warranty at Costco (and also Sam's Club, as it is the same Allstate warranty) does not cover OLED burn-in. The Best Buy extended warranty does cover it, if that makes a difference to you (though, the extended warranties are almost always not free at Best Buy unless you happen to catch a sale that includes it).

For this particular TV, the Costco/Sam's models are better than the retail ones as they have better WIFI (the retail C3 has WIFI 5, while the Costco/Sam's warehouse models come with WIFI 6).

Sony Bravia are the "best" but we are talking 2x to 3x the cost of this.

Anything with an LG panel, which also includes other companies like sony and Philips.

LG has been refining their oled panels for over a decade now.

Samsung's qd oled panels are incredible too and the researchers that discovered it I believe won nobel prizes for their discovery. It just doesn't have the level of refinement of LG, I would personally expect the LG panels to last longer.

I have a c1 from a few years ago and it's still pristine, I watch tv and play games, it's used very regularly and brightness hasn't been an issue but glare can be distracting.

Remember, the bigger the panel, the harder it is to avoid glare. These panels are just better without any lighting.

The picture quality either way is incredible, it's like we went from black and white to color all over again

I've seen people getting C4's when they ordered C3's...can anyone else get lucky? lol
They are lucky. While LG OLEDs are amazing, something is weird with the C4 having a green hue to them according to Rtings.

What is a very good cheaper alternative to a LG C3 to use as a pc monitor for gaming? I have used C1 for almost 3 years now and it is time for an upgrade. Very happy with the C1.
"upgrade" from c1? maybe looking for a higher refresh rate? oled and other technology is now on pc monitors, but it some cases it might still have burn-in issues.

i have a 42" c2 oled, it's been xlnt for 4090 4k gaming with cyberpunk, with all of the eye candy turned on it seldom hits the max refresh but is always at or over 100fps, which is plenty fast enough for me.

I am surprised there are any of these left. I bought my 65" C3 for $999 in April on clearance at Target. It's a great TV. The onboard software/apps are very good too. I found a good video guide for C3 calibration. It took a while to adjust all the settings, but the picture is amazing. Sometimes I'll watch a 4K Dolby Vision show that I don't even like, just because the picture is so good.

Given very similar Specs for OLED TVs, which brand would you knowledgeable TV people recommend?
I think brand wise, LG is top.

Samsung probably 2nd.

Go to rtings website and do some research.

G series will be a pretty significant upgrade over c series and basically top option in that price bracket among all manufacturers. But there are some differences, so depending on your use maybe one brand/model is better for you over another.

Hasn't that been addressed? Didn't rtings provide an update on that and said it wasn't an issue. Maybe just an issue on some early panels. I suppose still a chance you get one, but Costco return/exchange should be easy.

Costco,10/23 - 11/17/2024, Samsung 65" class QN85D, 4k UHD Neo QLED, 5 year warranty, $1,199.99.
No one on OLED deal cares about a QLED.

If you think that price is a good deal, make a new post.

Coming from a Hisense QLED to an OLED- I couldn't agree more. Once you go OLED you can't go back lol.

So you need to have insurance through Allstate? I guess that's one way of generating new business.

Would you recommend a LG C3 77inch for 1999 at Bestbuy? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-7...lsrc=aw.ds
