I've been using the i9 version for about 6 months now and battery life is not bad. I'm sure there is a difference in battery life between using two screens vs one but I hardly notice it. I used to carry a 15.6" portable monitor or use my Samsung S8+ as a second screen but the built-in duel screens of this laptop is way more practical. For people who need a 2nd screen often, I highly recommend this laptop. The graphical performance or even the CPU performance isn't the greatest but for what I need, it's plenty.

ok sorry, it's the other way around then, the one in this deal is Raptor lake, the new one that just came out (but not in this laptop) is Lunar Lake

I really was stoked about these and bought one (actually bought a few before landing on a build) ... I couldn't get over scan lines that apparrently are unavoidable if you want a touch screen laptop. Sooo irritating to have a beautiful OLED screen(s) burdened by intermittent diagonal scan lines.

Huge fan of novel designs. This and the lenovo yoga book i9 are definitely innovating. Also love complementary portable monitors like the ones samsung makes. Nice to see the laptop space trying new stuff. Now if only the US would let us have Huawei phones and BYD cars we'd be set.

Would let them also possibly increase the battery size, or go with thinner battery to make it thinner (it is a bit chonky, feels like a late 2000s/ early 2010s laptop). If they put the CPU in the upper display to balance things (its pretty asymmetrical, where the upper display is quite thin, arguably a bit flimsy, and then the lower is in the main body and so quite a bit thicker), could increase the battery even more (plus move the heat off the lap, should make it easier to dissipate the heat too). Possibly even could allow them to do a dGPU.

GPD has a dual display laptop thing that is also interesting, and while there are things it has that I like (Oculink, Ethernet, 2nd display has input so can operate as a normal external display from another device), it is less versatile and I believe even chonkier (this feels like a late 2000s laptop, the GPD looks like late 90s or early 2000s laptop in chonkiness). Its also even more expensive ($2K I believe).

Even though I wouldn't want to see the price, I'd love to see Apple make one of these and I think they'd be very popular with Mac users, especially graphic artists and the like. Dual displays is an actual Pro feature, and this is a smart way to integrate it, and if it brought Pencil support to Mac it'd be pretty huge. Supposedly there's a larger (20") foldable iPad Pro that might show up in like 2027.

Oh as for uses, I've gotten so used to dual displays that I find normal laptops cramped. But I tend to watch YouTube or something while doing other things (photo editing, browsing the web). This let's me sketch on the bottom display while having something play on the top display (ADHD) instead of how I've been operating (watching YouTube on my phone while sketching on tablet, or watching on tablet while browsing web on my phone). This increased the capability/usability while keeping the overall size svelte and portable enough. It would be really good even not portable (for that reason I wish they'd have drilled VESA holes into the kickstand piece so could mount it and let you rotate it more easily, plus with the way the keyboard splits off means you could have that flat on your desktop). This also replaced my current desktop (which was very old, think about a decade for CPU/GPU), giving me a single computing device (pros and cons, it works better for me though).

I've connected my 12.9" iPad to my Mac Book as a second monitor it works well, but I prefer to use my portable 15.6" external monitor.
