Anyone who's interested, just be aware that the $100 soundbar doesn't support HDMI Arc input. So no CEC, and no volume control with your TV's remote. You have to use the remote that came with the soundbar or use a programable remote and program the volume keys for Bose.
In for one! Does anyone know if the 550 model comes with any kind of mounting hardware included in the box? Looking to mount this directly underneath a 43" TV that's on a Swivel Dual Articulating Arms Tilt TV Mount...I'm thinking that I'm going to need some sort of universal soundbar mount from Amazon for this....
Doesn't have mounting holes. Mounting it under the TV would likely cover the atmos speaker.
Oof just noticed the device doesn't support HDMI in. My TV doesn't have eARC so I lose function of the 2 top speakers. Too bad.

Are you sure? I quickly looked up the 600 model on Youtube and it shows 2 gold colored screw holes on the bottom side underneath the rubber padding.....
Is it still true that Bose spends more on advertising than all the other manufacturers combined? Is it still true that Bose has never made a THX certified anything?
Which group are you in? Hosed by Bose...Hose by Bose...Ho's by Bose...
Need one for plex, are there any cheaper 5.1 speakers or equivalent? Heard 5.1 being converted to 2.1 stereo speakers is the reason dialogue is annoyingly quiet and then action sequence you get a heart attack from being super loud.
I have a 5.1 setup and dialogue is still low. Especially on MAX.

My office speakers have been cutting out randomly lately; thoughts on how the $100 one would be for a PC? Would only be using it for webex/music, no gaming or tv/movies.
ofcourse you could use it and it would be a powerful speaker, they made for voices and bass but in movies. Not ideal for music but I guess they way too big for a desktop

that makes it useless. Everyone gets so excited about the name brand that is it a name anymore
Debating this too. I have the vizio from a black friday deal 3 years ago. It does great for me but would love to upgrade to the bose 550 in the living room and put the vizio in my room
Were you able to decide? I'm wondering if I should get the 550 as well? Or do you think I should wait for a better deal that's like the 550/5.1 all in one soundbar as I only have room for a soundbar?

I stuck with the Vizio. I only stuck with it because I already have one and it puts out good sound for the money. I am unsure of bose quality for the 550 and since I didn't see anyone give much feed back on it I passed rather than risking paying 3x the money of the vizio

I see thanks. Is the Vizio similar to the one that's on deal right now (V20x-J8)? I needed a soundbar for my living room (not that big) and was wondering if the Vizio would sound good enough despite being 2.0? Maybe I should wait till there's a deal like a Samsung s60b?

How about the Bose Soundbar 550 Home Theater?
Can we use the TV remote (Samsung) to control the volume on the soundbar?
Thanks!

Yep it's the same one from a black friday deal few years ago. My living room is not that big either, I am not able to max volume on the vizio with out blowing my ear drums out

My 550 arrived today and looks brand new. Just an Apple TV in the bedroom and a ~3 year old Sony 65" from Costco. Plugged the Bose into the ARC hdmi port and it's working flawlessly, tv automatically disabled internal speakers and much improved audio quality.

I believe the refurbished Yamaha with 2 year warranty by multiple ebay sellers is about $20ish less, including yamaha's own website.
