bought the older version of these and the chip internally always used to burn the stick causing corruptions to files. anyone know if this is any better?
There's a lot of people who seem to defend Sabrent but since I got burnt twice by them USB SATA/IDE adapter smoking, and card reader, I've been avoiding this brand.

I transferred about 20 video files, each ranging from 200-400mb, and the stick got very hot but not finger burning hot. My sdcard still worked fine but I probably shouldn't use this card reader often on the same sdcard.

Note that this particular 3rd party seller, Store4PC, is essentially the manufacturer direct store for the Sabrent brand.

Good luck!

For this kind of products, I tend to buy Taiwanese or Japanese ones.

thanks for the update, so i guess same design flaw on a different design. maybe i'll try the cheaper ones, at least my expectations will be a lot lower. =)

Works fine to upload DSLR photos to my iPhone. Good alternative adapter to use instead of buying Apple's $30-40 version

I have a sabrent IDE-to-USB-A adapter from many years ago, the plastic enclosure was stepped on and broken but the adapter STILL WORKING...

Also have a SATA-to-USB-A adapter and NO PROBLEM...

I have had one of these for a couple years, no issues. It has been used for micro, SD, writing Batocera, 3ds hacking, and various anbernic os. I think I also have their SATA to USB and I can report zero issues, though admittedly only used 3x.
