I just upgraded my whole house (2 levels, 3200SF) for $300. I put a ubiquity Unifi Cloud Ultra at the modem and a U7 Pro in the attic. Admittedly I had a wire run already. The management interface is worlds better than the dodgy Orbi three-unit mesh it replaced and the 5GHz signal is stronger pretty much everywhere; only the very furthest corners of my basement have marginal signal. I just bought two U6 Lites to add to my shop and garage buildings to the network for $100 each.
