I have one of these things. Let me tell you, it is comically niche, but it works amazingly well and I absolutely love every chance I have to break it out. I lean into the ridiculousness of it with extreme enthusiasm about how excellent this product is and it always makes everyone laugh. But it really does toast a great hot dog and bun (if you're into that). It cooks the dogs like they were grilled but at a fraction of the time and indoors at 2AM after a 4-hour shift at the bar stool. I like bun length dogs. I usually toast them one way, then turn them upside down and toast them a second time. If you don't use bun length, the fat ones tend to plump up and get stuck in the wiener holder.
I endorse this product and $20 is a great price for your cabinet space.

I owned one of these in the past.
Unfortunately, they perform poorly, often burning the hot dogs and buns, resulting in an unpleasant mess. They are not worth the investment at any price, unless intended solely as a decorative item in your home.

No, the 1/4 lb Kirkland Dinner Franks will not fit. Not all the way at least. And that makes for an unhappy dog.

Point/counterpoint here: it may actually be worth the risk. This looks a lot like something I bought as a joke called a Hot Diggity Dogger. If it's as good as that- my roommate and I thought it was pretty awesome, cooked perfectly every time.

Too bad. These can't handle longer wieners.
Why not trim them down to fit?

You need some really skinny buns to fit in the bun toaster. Potato buns are too fat to fit.

Did you know that according to some nutritionists, eating a hot dog takes 30 minutes off your life?

Would make for a cool gadget. Pop the hot dog in, wait for the *ding* - 30 minutes down!
This is how they can make any ridiculous statistic. Ok let's assume they figure out two groups, one hot dog eaters one that never eats them. Skip the "how many do you eat?" question. So based on estimations and guesses we compare how long people live which is the only actual number we can be sure of. Hardly a controlled experiment since literally every other factor is disregarded. Them probably a assume lifestyle differences between people who eat them or not and how I'm guessing that most people not eating hot dogs are possibly more health conscious than the hot doggers. I wonder if more hot dog eaters also have other habits (smoking, drinking, obesity) that might make them die earlier? The point is statistics in general can be manipulated, lifestyle statistics have so many variables involved and yes logic says a hot dog isn't exactly healthy this 30 minute things is stupid. I might believe 2 minutes per dog tops lol

Agree. I bought one. It was great. Then I felt like Morgan Spurlock in "Super Size Me" when he ate McDonald's for thirty days straight. There it was on my counter, reminding me I had more dogs left in the fridge...and half a pack of buns too. Instead of an occasional hot dog out I was doing it every lunch. Too convenient . Safely back in the box and on the top shelf .

Put the hotdog in the bun, wrap it in a paper towel (ends closed), microwave for 30sec. Dog cooked, bun steamed, $20 saved.

How difficult is it the hot dog part to clean especially with the grease that drips down?

I'd like to think this is something George Costanza would own.

I would get it if my wife would let me but sadly, I was thrown out of the Benevolent Brotherhood of Husbands for being a wimp.
