Also, if you want to keep it unbranded, do not insert the SIM after. It will force a factory reset and brand the tablet. That's what happened to me. I was surprised that there were so few apps installed. Once I inserted the metro SIM, it forced a factory reset and downloaded and installed tons of garbage apps.
You can still uninstall the garbage with ADB but you won't be able to remove the T-Mobile/Metro boot screen.

or I can just activate metro esim and setup up the iphone later?

or is it sufficient to just activate the line while leaving the phone in its original packaging?

Well after you guys answered those questions, were you able to get another phone? They must've had T-Mobile accounts in the past? or actually these companies have so much data on us cross linked to phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, contact lists, from data breaches…
You may buy phones (e.g. some low end Androids) requiring a lower tiered plan, but I don't think they're worth buying given the new one year unlock policy. Androids depreciate much faster than iPhones.
You may be able to buy an A9+ tablet, but online ordering will only let you buy one per account.
I'm done with this deal. I still have two Visible numbers. Maybe I'll try to see if I can open a new account after the New Year, but an earlier attempt failed.
I've created 5 accounts in recent days without any problem (including two created one after the other on the same day). But Metro has put a hard stop on me after my third order. So I'm left with 2 Visible numbers I won't be able to use and will have to cancel before the due date.
I'm keeping one of the Visible numbers for a few months, but the "disposable" one may be blocked by Metro probably because I've used it too many times. The last port-in process was supposed to be cancelled yesterday after I called them but it didn't. I just got off the phone with the port-in department and was told they would look into why it wasn't eligible even though their record showed the port-in process had been cancelled.
I believe the cap is 5 devices under the same plan and you can only have the same plan once per account. You may be allowed to have a different plan. So if you're lucky enough to have ordered 5 iPhone's under the plus plan and try to order a 6th phone, you'll have to choose a different plan. That will disqualify you from getting the best promo for most devices. I have no interest in any other devices so I didn't try that. If you really want to order than 5, the best option is to create a second Metro account and start from scratch.
(what are the options /costs for battery replacement on iphones? I thought Apple made it easier for people to replace batteries themselves? I thought there was an announcement about that a while back)
If it's sold out why do they still show the 12 on the page? But it looks like you can't add it to the cart? are we going to be charged automatically for the 75 next month or do I actually have to cancel it? ..And what's all this talk about a cap of five phones per account? Wasn't that like a long time ago when the deal started? Haven't they announced since then you could only get two phones per account? And it certainly seems like people are having trouble after their second phone…
To answer the person above. There is no exact science to how Metro decides to allow adding additional lines or how they set their limit. It's possible for metro to start declining orders after the a single line or for them to allow you to order upto 5 without a problem. The reality is for most its somewhere in between at 2-3 lines ordered spaced out between a few days before additional lines begin to receive the dreaded 'problem with your order call us' message when trying to place order. There support is not trained to troubleshoot or give specifics on exactly why an order did not go through. All they can do is clear the port request for the # that was used for failed order and then tell you to try again in a few hours. Once you get a declined order its near impossible to get one to go through on the same account.
