I've heard people say the dark chili powder doesn't sell because it's less flavorful. I just use generic Walmart chili powder in mine. My secret ingredient is Wendy's hot chili sauce. I put about ten packs into a gallon of my homemade chili. Everybody raves about it.

I'm making a big pot of chili as we speak. I always just throw all my ingredients in the pot, beef, beans, chicken and beef stock, onions, bell peppers, canned tomatoes and tomato paste, and then add chili powder, cumin, paprika, onion and garlic powder, until I get the taste I want.

I switched to using dried chili peppers. I think it tastes better so not sure I'll be going back to chili powders.

Bought some from Amazon a month or so ago. 100% agreement on it being less flavorful. Switched back to the Sam's Members Mark brand.

How creative ✌️

In any case... $9.98 for 20 oz. @Sam's:

Many people don't use many of those spices so they're not inclined to buy them separately, this Chili powder is simply more convenient and it's pretty darn good.

College dorm cooks, people starting to cook, people who don't have time to cook, regular cooks, etc. A lot of cooks aren't carbon copies of you, shocking I know.

ahh yes.. the college dorm cook whipping up his famous batch of chili. happens all the time, lol.

stop pretending there are "many" people without some of the most basic, widely used spices out there. You are describing something incredibly uncommon, and anyone out there who isnt homeless without those spices is doing themselves a disservice for no reason.

your "chili powder only" chili recipe is probably laughably gross.

The point was these are basic spices and arguably some of the first one should get. OP has clearly never been to Western PA. Large swaths of Americans have zero experience with or appreciation for well flavored food.

"Stop pretending", there are a LOT of people without a large variety of spices, you're completely delusional if you think everyone goes out and buys what YOU buy in variety, sorry buttercup but you're not special, just as there are people with a large array of spices including myself, there are a lot of people as well who give zero F's and buy the easiest route possible, go touch some grass.

I'm not. Lol. I'm saying there aren't a lot of people with the most basic of spices.

"but you're not special"

yes. i know. im like the majority of people, that dont consider stuff like garlic some rare commodity.

"there are a lot of people as well who give zero F's"

no way. you dont say. there are a lot of people who only eat fast food. doesnt make them any less foolish for doing so.

"go touch grass"

haha. the mantra of someone who is all in a fit about something they read online.
