Quest Games Optimizer is running a 50% off sale. I bought it last year and used it on both the Quest 2 and Quest 3 with great results.
This is an unofficial piece of software that runs in the background on your quest and lets you unlock additional CPU power, run higher quality of textures, specific FPS Targets, Resolution, etc.. of existing Meta Quest games.

Works great on both optimized ("Enhanced for quest 3") and non-optimized games (designed for Quest 1 and 2 but never updated).
It sounds a bit complicated but you can install it within about 5 minutes, and you only need to do it once.
You can use either pre-made profiles for games or create your own customized ones

I've heard good/bad things
I also hear SideQuest is free

With that said: Sidequest can do what this does.. the difference here is that Quest Games Optimizer runs directly on the quest and can auto-launch/auto-apply profiles whenever you play a game.. With Sidequest it's a manual process where you need to send ADB commands to the quest to set specific resolutions each time, and all is reset once you reset the headset.
I held off on Quest Games Optimizer for a bit before chancing it, and haven't had any trouble, but good call on pointing on the permissions thing in case it's a bigger deal for others

Such a turn off. I wouldn't even give it a try.
If it's such a great software Meta would've implemented it. No need to shill on Reddit.

I think that Meta did eventually 'unlock' some of the additional CPU power of the Quest 2 after a couple years, but they probably want to play it safe by not letting people overclock games and set resolutions themselves for fear of a lawsuit or anything. I'm personally happy it exists, but I absolutely understand the hesitation since I was the same way.

I think the way I did it was by connecting to Sidequest and just enabling it there -- but if you have the application installed (not sure how far along you got), if ADB errors out, there are a few other ways to enable it without a computer, in the headset itself
