If you want to game, I would just buy a gaming laptop with dedicated GPU. https://slickdeals.net/f/17824704-acer-predator-helios-neo-16-fhd-165hz-i9-14900hx-rtx-4060-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1049-99?src=category_page is pretty good deal with ability to increase RAM as well.

Right now it doesn't support egpus, from what I've read there aren't drivers from the GPU makers on arm yet. Would they come someday? Maybe, but I wouldn't buy this expecting that to happen.

These Snapdragon cpus are definitely made for Ultrabooks and not to be a gaming laptop, but they certainly can play some games. Here's a video to give you a sense of what to expect: https://youtu.be/7GLMssf3KcI?si=ymFhTu-ft-8qjehd

It's garbage and you want to attach a eGPU on it? That trash can't even run any game effectively. Literally performs like a 10th gen or earlier i3 in gaming. Totally garbage and everybody knows that microsoft is failing to push ARM windows again.
It isn't trash, it just has different use case. It's silly to measure all PCs with the same performance specs when one of the main advantages of the PC ecosystem is choice. This is a productivity laptop for travelers who don't need 3D performance. Great battery life - great standby (it doesn't suffer from Intel/AMD sleep power drain issues) and although the iGPU isn't the strongest, it is one of the most efficient. Strong CPU performance and efficiency too, but suffers from software/hardware compatibility issues. The new Intel Ultra Series 2 serves a different use case, closer to your mobile gamer-cenctric one. But it "is trash" for multicore productivity, and not the most efficient if under load. AMD "is trash" for idle efficiency, and they tend to have strange thunderbolt-to-USB4 compatibility issues, specifically with docks. Apple "is trash" for specs per dollar and legacy software/hardware compatibility; they are all quite good this year in their respective use cases, but how much that is worth depends on the user.

Seriously. I know that not everything will run but the story around Windows on ARM is these things can't run anything, which is silly. For a lot of people I would bet an ARM-powered Windows device is likely a better buy than an Intel or AMD one, especially now as the prices are coming down and the Ryzen AI/Lunar Lake laptops are few and pricier than these. All about use case.
FWIW, this Lenovo one seems to be one of the better reviewed Snapdragon laptops out there.

The Intel and AMD issues you're referring to are 100% on M$, not Intel or AMD. If M$ hadn't lost their minds by axing S3, Intel and AMD laptops wouldn't be suffering from any of this, and a laptop on a modern Intel or AMD chip would be as good a productivity laptop on top of having good 3D performance.

These are gen1 snapdragon x elite products. these are beta products. That's why they are all going on sale
Wait for gen2 / gen3 for wider compatibility
