Kershaw doesn't heat treat the magnacut to a high hardness, so it loses much of its full potential. Not worth buying magancut from kershaw.

It uses Magnacut steel which is the current holy grail steel for knives

Haha I miss those days to. That being said, this Leek is Magnacut, and 100 bucks for a Magnacut blade is actually a good price.

The normal Leek we know and love uses 14c28n, which while a good budget steel, is not comparable with a supersteel like Magnacut. This Leek is in a totally different price category because it's steel is in a totally different category

Yea, why is this one so expensive? The color option?

From what I've read (from people who are into knives), Magancut seems to the best overall steel and has a really good balance of hardness, edge retention, ease of sharpening, and is highly corrosion resistant. Other super steels will surpass it in individual categories, but at the cost of being difficult to sharpen or being prone to corrosion. Magnacut is basically good at everything.

It's probably going to be overkill for almost everyone (myself included) in terms of actually needing its functionality, but if you simply enjoy knives and like collecting them than $100 for a Magnacut blade is probably a good price right now.

Same, but can still be had for $50 with a lesser quality steel.

These were never less than $30. Lower quality steel, yes. I got mine for less than $20 many years ago but it's Sandvik steel. This is premium steel.

I would assume if that is true then we would see it in reduced hardness.
I found following video https://youtu.be/bSpUU0bM46Q?si=LYbM1_s018cNl_gt but it's for different knife.
