I might be missing something, but it looks like this is available for $699 from both Samsung's website and WalMart.

This is the G85SD model (LS34DG850SNXZA). The one you are seeing is probably the G85SB (LS34BG850SNXZA). In fact the G85SB $549 is you have Samsung EPP.

One assumes that means this is a better model, but what's the difference ?

SB is from 2022, but from what have read the internals are the same. The SD released in 2024 has full size ports, some shifting software to reduce burn in occurrences and a small bit of matte anti glare coating.

Personally I'm leaning toward the older SB. Using my EPP discount and a $200 credit from a previous Samsung monitor purchase for $350 it's looks pretty solid.
