Never found this light stuff to work as well as the real thing.

Small hole, like a fist? Put a piece of wood behind the hole and screw it into the existing drywall, then widdle down a piece of drywall to fill the hole, screw the patch in, get some 5 minute hot mud and some mesh tape, put the mesh tape over the patch and apply a small amount of hot mud. Then apply drywall mud and let that dry, then sand it and it's ready for paint.

Normal price at Walmart, what? Just get some dry powder quick setting 45min stuff. It won't crack over larger surfaces like this long setting putty

This stuff is junk is like a light powder when you try to fill the hole it doesn't stick

I finally used this product to fill up some small holes (about 1cm). Pretty easy to apply. If you painted over it then it'll look like the rest of the wall. I would use it in a rental but would try something better if this was my own house. If you were to press onto it with some force, it would probably break easily.

checked reviews. and seems half of 5 star reviews come from people that use it as fake food cream, fake sundaes/milkshakes, other art and decorations, but not for what it meant to be.
