I bought this model two years ago for $179 from Walmart. I love it and use it 3 to 4 times per week. However, I would not buy one without a lid to cover it. I bought an aftermarket lid along with strong magnetic hooks to hold tools. Mine also didn't have a paper towel holder or caddy holder. After spending all the money on those extra things I just mentioned, I would just buy one with a hinged cover. A cover is essential.

You got a dud then. My Sam's pro model on high heat would have burned the egg within a second on high... Lol. I cooked all summer on the Sam's, it takes a few minutes to heat up, but once at temp I would never turn it over 1/3 heat or else everything would cook far too fast outside, and cold inside. Sorry you got a bad one but my Sam's gets hot af at 1/3 setting!

I'm also looking to purchase one but I'm not sure which model is best. Definitely want one with the hard cover though.

Idk if you can look it up but it's the same thing but had a bunch of add ons. Has a front tray for spices and your water and oil. Hooks. An attached lid instead the one you have to take off Everytime. I'm sure I'm missing things but can't think of the other stuff.

It has a hinged hood which you need a cover for this grill otherwise it can rust easier, there's also a unhinged hood but even that's $80 secondhand
