it's cheaper on hp's site, $350 off plus 10% more off with code 10HPAIPC24, i opted for the 32gb, makes a big difference with these shared memory systems

edit: order from hp and you also get the pen, i don't think the bestbuy skus are getting the pen in the box

edit edit: hp's customizable version might not be the exact same sku as bestbuy 16GB model, it might have a different touchpad which is a deal-breaker for me. sorry to talk so much about the hp deal on the bestbuy thread, i thought it was apples to apples the same ugh

i wouldn't say they're done... too much x86 code for everything to switch to arm just yet. x86 will be around for a long time.

The coupon code does not work for this particular model. Are you sure you're talking about the same model?

edit edit: aww crap, i think they did a slimeball switcheraroo on the touchpad between the 16GB bestbuy sku that everyone has been reviewing and the customizable sku with everything else the same. the bestbuy sku has Pointing Device: Haptic touchpad, while the customizable sku has Pointing Device: Precision Touchpad support. If that's the case I am swearing off HP because that is slimy to bury that in specs, knowing everyone will want the upgraded 32GB cpu

confirmed with hp chat(bot), if you order the customizable version on hp's site (the only way to get 32GB), they switch out the haptic touchpad. so i guess oems are now shipping lower-cpu models with nice hardware to stores/reviewers, then switching out the hardware when you want the upgraded version from the oem. i bet many are falling for it, reasonably assuming everything else is the same except the cpu and hd that you can customize on their site

Thank you for researching this. So what's the difference between the two TouchPad?

One is haptic, the other one is mechanical? This is easily searchable on google.

the haptic touchpad is more expensive and generally favored. it has piezo electric feedback that you can feel a click anywhere, i'm assuming the precision touchpad is a mechanical "diving board" type touchpad where you can only click on the bottom

Even the Ryzen Strix with 32GB is going for 1100. Laptops cannot be priced high in this competitive environment. X Elite laptops with very good screen available from $700 as well.

there's def some aggressive pricing and shelf muscling happening with the snapdragons. interesting retail observation: when i went to bestbuy to see this thing in person, they only had 1 lunar lake lenovo aura on the floor display, but about a dozen snapdragons. i could buy the lunar lake omnibook flip if i asked for it, but they only had the x omnibook on display

I still say if your computer needs are basic, Snapdragon is great, especially on sale, but I returned mine - for me, given the cost it'd be nice to be able to record music on it. Driver support is nil. A shame really.

Picked this up last night, got to play around with it a bit after a long setup. Beautiful screen, great keyboard and track pad, speakers are down firing (boo) but sound good. But had it hitch a couple of times and completely freeze with Edge open on one half of the screen and YouTube on the other, so...idk, we'll see.
