Is subscription required for extended recording? Anyway to record on a SD card for later retrieval?

I have a ring doorbell and discontinued the sub. Now I have no way to record, and it's becoming a dumbbell.

It will record to a memory card, full time or just events. A subscription is needed for any cloud services.

Thank you.
I misunderstood the "Free 12-Second Video Recordings". I thought that was for SD card recordings. I assume there won't be any limitations on recording on a SD card.
I also have a blink doorbell. On that doorbell, the recordings for motion events are always late to start. I only get to see the backs of delivery workers. 🤣

I have this and really like it but there are some drawbacks that are mostly "what if" scenarios.

The good:

Pop in an SD card and it will record 24/7. You will get event notifications without a subscription but they are limited to basically "hey there is movement". With a sub it will determine if it is a person, pet, package, car, ect . . . You can also set up motion zones to limit alerts.

The bad:

There is no security screw. Someone can walk up grab it, pull up, and remove it.

The SD card is on the side. Someone can open the side rubber flap and pop out the SD card. I don't think this will ever happen but it could and it is a strange oversight.

This WILL NOT work with the wyze wireless chime. If you do not want it connected to your doorbell or you can't hear your doorbell in parts of your house where you would want the wireless chime you must get the wyze cam OG and enable the cam as doorbell feature.

I've read that this doesn't work with existing chimes? I had a Google Nest that I pried off today and was simply connected with 2 wires, which powers the unit and runs to my existing chime. Can I use this?

Might be dead? 37.98 for me. Is it worth getting the chime? That deal is live for the same price.

Do you think the chime is worth $10 extra?

If you read the reviews, apparently this comes with a chime controller? I'm confused.

wyse dropped price to $27.98, can checkout with amazon for free shipping. I'm not sure if the amazon one was different or both are somehow chime compatible?

Yup....no limitation on the SD....it can record 24/7 if you want. You will probably find the same thing with Wyze. The alerts are much slower than when I had a Ring system.

On Amazon, yes. But is now that price through Wyze's website. I had to actually click into the item to see the sale price. It wasn't listed on the homepage.
