If you don't mind curved, may want to look at the Samsung G7 monitor, similar specs but with mini LED for better contrast and deeper blacks. Often goes on sale on Samsung site in the $400-$500 range:

Excellent all around monitor. Been using it 2 years and love it. Text is sharp and crisp for web browsing, plenty bright, and excellent for gaming also. Paid $600 and thought that was a steal. Upgrade the firmware. Monitor was not recognized at start up sometimes. The updated firmware solved that. This is a great deal for a fantastic monitor! Enjoy!!

Thank you! I've been leaning towards the purchase for the better part of the day, so I'm gonna go for it.

OLED is an incredible display tech, so I apologize if I caused any doubt by saying I was trying to avoid OLED. My reasons are mostly due to price, but also due to concerns about long term burn-in. I work from home, so the common MS Windows elements (task bar etc) live on my display for 10+ hours a day, every day. I also don't move windows around much. If price was of no concern (as in, no big deal buying a $1000+ monitor and potentially replacing it in 2-4 years if burn-in occurs,) I'd absolutely be buying an OLED monitor instead.

So hard to decide if I should get this. Decent monitor and specs but picture quality itself isn't really any better than my 4K Dell panels from 2016.

Really wish I could get RGB OLED (not WBGR like the LG) in the 32-37ish range.

Recommended for a general use monitor? I'm an aging "gamer" but lately I spend far more time just surfing the web than I do gaming, and I almost never request more than 60FPS from my games.

120/144Hz desktop feels nice, but I'm not so sure it's a necessity for me these days. I'm just looking for a non-OLED 32" 4K monitor that looks great no matter what I'm asking of it. The savings (plus the $100 off $500 AMEX deal) makes this look like the one to get.

You can if you are able to wait about ten years. Make sure you set an alarm.

Can I ask why you were looking for non-oled? I play games on my laptop screen, and would like something bigger. I also don't game often, so I don't need the best.

Between the 100 off and the 10x Amex points from a CB website, this seems like a great option.

Chatted with dell around 15 minutes going back and forth for price match. They said it did not qualify since I used a coupon that was one time use. I argued my point that 10% off of $500 drops it to $450 total but they disagreed. Finally they spoke to manager and gave me 10% discount and refunded me $49.40. Makes this ever slicker as I don't think amex would work at 499 price point without small filler to get it over 500. Total of $386.42 after everything considered.

If you're not getting the AMEX deal, I feel like you can go with their Acer/ Alienware line with ips and mini led for that kinda price. Screen is going to look like one big lightbulb on dark scenes.

I bought this monitor when it first went on sale with the AMEX discount as well for about $600. Colors and refresh rate are great with my Nvidia card, but also great with consoles. I might be showing my age, but it almost brought me back to when the Dell 2001FP Ultrasharp came out and that was a great monitor at the time.

I also use it for work and never had any issues with fuzzy letters, color uniformity issues, etc. The 4K sharpness has been a upgrade for me.
