Why are these noticeably cheaper than something like PRS SE Standard? Looks like the same 85/15 pickups, PRS tuners and tremolo. Is it just the finish?

Just so anyone interested knows... I'm pretty sure this price is good on the new colors (silver, yellow, blue) as well and is available at many retailers. They're usually $499 and prs is currently (or at least last I checked) doing 15% off, so $425. I bought one a while back for the same price. It's my first prs so wanted to try for cheap. It's a great no-frills guitar. Components are all good and mine came with zero issues.

Good to know on the new colors - these are built the exact same as the $1200+ SEs, just with a thin satin finish (so much louder acoustically, just not as 'durable' if you're throwing it around)

Not sure what $1200 SEs you were talking about (there aren't many solid body SE's in $1200 range though), but at least some of them have maple tops and set necks, instead of mahogany-only body and bolt-on neck on this. It may or may not matter to some, but it is significant difference in build.

What I like about these guitars is that they don't have that distinct line going down the center of the body like a lot of PRS's. This looks like the body is made from one piece.

He used to play a core Hollowbody Piezo ($6,000ish), but now has a custom made from G Deluis. You can find the model on his website. The guy also makes a Languedoc clone.
