- good unit for the price (I paid at the time)
- probably a good beginner unit (I was a spray beginner)
- these type of venturi sprayers are limited in their usefulness because they are very reliant on the viscosity of the media being just right - so for most paints you'll need to dilute, which is a huge hassle for larger areas (like a room).
- easy to clean
- nozzle prone to clogging but it's easy to clean quickly

Are you using trim paint? That tends to be thick. The can of BEHR I bought specifically said not to thin, I did anyway, and it came out like shit. FWIW I also had to dilute the wall and ceiling paint beyond the recommendations on the label (both BEHR) but those came out OK so long as you get it to 35-40 range (cup emptying).
I guess this type of sprayer is only useful for cheap, thin paint and not suited for better quality, thicker "one coat paint plus primer" stuff?
I appreciate you sharing your experience. There's nothing more frustrating and time consuming than a crappy paint job. Stripping off latex is not my favorite thing, so I suppose I'm on the hook for a decent sprayer, or I'll be rolling and brushing.
