This is a great deal on the Dewalt DCW620B. It was $299 earlier this year, which is the lowest I have seen it up to this point.

Thanks OP!

I have the 20 volt cordless router already, is there a handle/dust kit I can add to that unit?

If you have the compact router (DCW600), you can add a plunge base (DNP612, ~$80) and a dust collector adapter (DNP616, ~$20). Your compact router will then have the general functionality of this one, but with some major limitations:
  • It is way lower powered
  • It will not accept 1/2" router bits
  • The visibility is much worse with the dust collector adapter than the new model
  • The dust collection attachment location is more awkward

Some people had said that with the mobile app you can cancel the batteries before placing the order and you do not need to do a return in store. Does anyone know if that still works?

Try it! Return via app hasn't worked for me in over year. I've never had an issue returning the battery.

I suppose an average home owner wouldn't be using this tool very often? Only if you are a professional carpenter or wood worker?

Or a toolaholic! But seriously, for homeowner projects, if you do need a router, a compact router ("trim router") should suffice.

I picked up the router and was able to cancel the battery via the app when I got home. I did in-store pickup at 2 separate stores.

They allow you to pick up just the router and not the battery? Then you canceled the batter? Sorry trying to understand fully to replicate before I purchase. Thanks!

I chose different stores for each item and only picked up the router. When I picked up the router, they didn't say anything about the battery from the other store.

$350 for the router
$220 for the battery (now free)
Return the battery
Should equal $130 for the router.
What am I missing?

So the two items are prorated based on their original prices to add up to $349.

The fraction of the total cost prorated to the router is:
  • $349 [router price] / ($349 [router price] + $219 [battery price]) = 0.614

The fraction of the total cost prorated to the battery is:
  • $219 [battery price] / ($349 [router price] + $219 [battery price]) = 0.386

Therefore,
  • Prorated cost of the router is 0.614 x $349 = $214.44
  • Prorated cost of the router is 0.386 x $349 = $134.56

I bought this deal. I've been watching this since it came out. Features are amazing. It takes 1/2" collet (and 1/4") which is amazing. It has anti-kickback. The best feature to me is the ease of fast adjusting, whether micro or large adjustments with solely your left trigger finger. At $214 it's absolutely a must have for the niche for people who don't have a dedicated router setup or a shaper in their shop (or it's too filled with wood to waste space 🤣)

This won't fit in a router table, but it's not for that. You can flush trim, lock miter, cove or roundover with ease on difficult woods. Throw a whiteside bit in and you'll achieve phenomenal results.

One of top three tools I've bought in my woodworking career.
