Kinda pricey for these features over the 800. Here's a summary of key differences from prudentreviews dot com:

Bosch 800 vs. Benchmark: Key Takeaways

Noise Level: The Bosch 800 series operates at a low 42 dB noise level, while the Benchmark series reduces this even further to 40 dB.

EasyGlide Rack System: Both include the EasyGlide Rack system for smooth loading, but the Benchmark series features premium ball bearings for a smoother glide.

Flexible Tines: Both series feature adjustable FlexSpace Tines, but the 800 series has these on the front half of the lower rack, while the Benchmark series features them throughout the lower rack.

Water Softener: All Benchmark series models include a built-in water softener. Only select 800 series dishwashers have this feature.

Sizes: 800 series dishwashers are available in 24 and 17 ¾ inch sizes. All Benchmark series dishwashers are 24 inches wide.

Indicator Light: The 800 series uses a red dot as an indicator light, while the Benchmark series also displays the time remaining for the dishwasher cycle.

Interior Lights: The Benchmark series includes interior lights for easy loading in dim conditions, a feature the 800 series lacks.

Drying System: While all 800 series models feature CrystalDry, only three higher-end Benchmark models include it, with the rest using PureDry.

Price: The Bosch 800 series falls within a more economical price range ($1,099 to $1,499), whereas the Benchmark series, with its superior features, commands a higher price ($1,799 to $2,299).

Overall, I'd stick with a 800 if you can find one on sale. The stuff you care about is crystal dry which is in the 800 series. The 40 to 42db noise from the 800 series isn't that much louder than the 38 to 40db rating of the benchmark series. 42db is still freaking quiet, waaay quieter than the builders grade stuff you see installed in rentals. I'm a little disappointed that Bosch is going the KitchenAid route and trying to justify an extra 500 to 800 bucks for some lights, tines, and ball bearing glides.
We are proud of you...it will be your unforgettable life experience.lol
BRAVO!!!
The same way they justify spending $80k on a BMW when my Camry is still running fine after 15 years.

FYI I was able to get a Thermador Sapphire open box (floor model) from best buy for $699. Unreal deal, it had some sticky stuff on the front from the store price tag thing, heat gun and some rubbing alcohol and it was perfect!

How does it compare with the Bosch 800 series? Pretty expensive even with a discount.

CrystalDry is amazing. It uses zeolite crystals to generate drying heat that is hot enough to dry plastic. I have this dishwasher and paid significantly more... great unit

Or $1000 on basketball shoes or $1000 on a pocket knife. Or a gram of coke when crack is much cheaper.

Probably because this has far more features and the expectation is that Maytag machines have a lower build quality and don't typically last 10 years. Whether that is actually true is a different story.

I actually have had the opposite experience and returned an 800 series to exchange it for a KitchenAid with their pro drying option. I would have been happy with the Bosch if I got a 500 series with the "active air" where it pops the door open to circulate the air outside. I'm on well water and it can start to get real musty if the dishwasher is not dry, so it was disappointing that this didn't work out for us. It definitely cleaned REALLY well though and things were very shiny and clean. Just wanted to give me 2 cents.

Because Whirlpool and their subsidies make dog poop dishwashers. I bought a Gold Series in 2014 and was effected by the Cleveland v Whirlpool 21 million dollar settlement. Problem is before it became class action it let to an almost 20,000 insurance claim. Had the prior owners not put a water proofer under the kitchen tile that extended to underneath the dishwasher area (not tiled) I would still be paying the increased premiums on a claim I could have had in 2018.

So what did I do? Yep you guessed it complained at Whirlpool to get a $450 dollar entry level from my now busted $800 dollar Gold Series that lasted "checks notes" till 2023 before the heater element took a crap.

Do not buy Whirlpool dishwashers or their affiliates. Been riding with Bosch since last year and my dishwasher still works like new even if it is still under Costco warranty.

Wow I'm sorry you hear that. The zeolite drying works so well for us that I've broken several hot glasses by filling them with cold water. I wonder if you got a lemon?

Either way, KitchenAide makes some excellent models too. That's what I had before this (lasted about 8-9 years before dying).
