Kinda pricey for these features over the 800. Here's a summary of key differences from prudentreviews dot com:

Bosch 800 vs. Benchmark: Key Takeaways

Noise Level: The Bosch 800 series operates at a low 42 dB noise level, while the Benchmark series reduces this even further to 40 dB.

EasyGlide Rack System: Both include the EasyGlide Rack system for smooth loading, but the Benchmark series features premium ball bearings for a smoother glide.

Flexible Tines: Both series feature adjustable FlexSpace Tines, but the 800 series has these on the front half of the lower rack, while the Benchmark series features them throughout the lower rack.

Water Softener: All Benchmark series models include a built-in water softener. Only select 800 series dishwashers have this feature.

Sizes: 800 series dishwashers are available in 24 and 17 ¾ inch sizes. All Benchmark series dishwashers are 24 inches wide.

Indicator Light: The 800 series uses a red dot as an indicator light, while the Benchmark series also displays the time remaining for the dishwasher cycle.

Interior Lights: The Benchmark series includes interior lights for easy loading in dim conditions, a feature the 800 series lacks.

Drying System: While all 800 series models feature CrystalDry, only three higher-end Benchmark models include it, with the rest using PureDry.

Price: The Bosch 800 series falls within a more economical price range ($1,099 to $1,499), whereas the Benchmark series, with its superior features, commands a higher price ($1,799 to $2,299).

Overall, I'd stick with a 800 if you can find one on sale. The stuff you care about is crystal dry which is in the 800 series. The 40 to 42db noise from the 800 series isn't that much louder than the 38 to 40db rating of the benchmark series. 42db is still freaking quiet, waaay quieter than the builders grade stuff you see installed in rentals. I'm a little disappointed that Bosch is going the KitchenAid route and trying to justify an extra 500 to 800 bucks for some lights, tines, and ball bearing glides.

The same way they justify spending $80k on a BMW when my Camry is still running fine after 15 years.

I actually have had the opposite experience and returned an 800 series to exchange it for a KitchenAid with their pro drying option. I would have been happy with the Bosch if I got a 500 series with the "active air" where it pops the door open to circulate the air outside. I'm on well water and it can start to get real musty if the dishwasher is not dry, so it was disappointing that this didn't work out for us. It definitely cleaned REALLY well though and things were very shiny and clean. Just wanted to give me 2 cents.
We got the kitchen aid one it broken precociously after 2 years warranty period have already sunk another 500 to fix it, thinking about completely stay clear with whirlpool made stuff unless the expectation is to just replace it every 2 years

Bosch dishwashers are terrible, the design of them leaves water pooling in side and developing a smell. Read the reviews
Not sure what you are smoking.
Bosch dishwashers have topped the performance and reliability charts for 10+ years at all pricepoints, not only the top models.
I have personally installed 5x of them and never had an issue., 3 of which sill running like new for over 10 years . If it smells or pools you have an installation problem or bad water….customer support is also excellent….

How do people justify spending $800 more than my maytag that is fine after 10 years..?
The Bosch 800 that I replaced my 10 year old Maytag with runs with less water, less electricity, cleans the dishes a hell of a lot cleaner than the old Maytag and doesn't sound like a clothes dryer with a pair of sneakers in it while it's running.

But technically it was 'fine' too.

What world are we living in whereby a $1400 dishwasher with questionable reliability is considered a slickdeal? Oh my, how times have changed! This post would've gotten eviscerated on fatwallet 😂
Your questionable reliability is based on what one person said in this post? Bosch has top of the line reliability. Go read review sites.

What world are we living in where one of the most universally praised brands for reliability is called "unreliable"?

Wow I'm sorry you hear that. The zeolite drying works so well for us that I've broken several hot glasses by filling them with cold water. I wonder if you got a lemon?

Either way, KitchenAide makes some excellent models too. That's what I had before this (lasted about 8-9 years before dying).
I really wanted to like the Bosch because it did such an amazing job at washing but was very unimpressed with the crystal dry. Maybe it was a lemon? Bestbuy was really good with swapping it out for us though as we swapped it out within the week and they did it free of charge. I'd definitely buy my appliances again from them

Wish we'd bought another Bosch when we moved into our current house 5yrs ago. Instead we went with a higher end Whirlpool because my wife wanted a dishwasher with a heating element. Wet dishes were always her main beef with the Bosch, it never completely dried the dishes especially tuperware, and it drover her crazy. We had the Bosch 18 yrs before moving and all I had to replace on it was a $30 water inlet valve, a $40 detergent dispenser door, and some $20 nylon dish rack rollers. We're on 5 yrs with this Whirlpool and I've already replaced the recirculation pump, water inlet valve, the upper dish rack wheel brackets and wheels, 2 of the cheap plastic filter strainers (because they warp and start to allow stuff to clog the sprayer arms), and two sprayer arms because I've had to remove them so many times to unclog them because of the cheap plastic warped filters. The Bosch had a much higher quality Stainless pre-screen and stainless mesh filter assembly.

I've done all the work myself to the Whirlpool, so the total is probably only $150, but that's with me doing the work. If I had to pay someone to do all that work I'm sure it would've probably already cost more than what we paid for it. Never again will I buy any dishwasher other than a Bosch.

I'm sure there are always some people with complaints or that received faulty units. I have been very happy with my 800 series dishwasher that I paid full price for. Works really well for us.

This happened to me. Anytime the dishwasher door was open it smelled like something had died in the kitchen. This is a well known issue that has not been fixed and now I have a thousand dollar paper weight in my basement. As always, not every single unit has this but many do and mine definitely did. Bought it at the height of the pandemic when I was "lucky" to get it.

Bought KitchenAid and couldn't be happier. Prodry. Stainless steel spray arms. Three sets of spray arms so that the third rack has it's own spray arms. Superior in every way to the Bosch I had.

I have a Bosch SHU9925UC/U12 from 2001 that I paid approximately $1200 for. Still running like a top and looks great. Only one tine has some rust on it because i must have nicked the nylon coating.

Good find. Appears to be wifi free too. I refuse to buy any appliance with wifi on it. They've gone too far.

I saw they described "Patented CrystalDry Technology" so I think this Benchmark model has Crystal Dry feature?
