The Walgreens deal is still active so you can get a series 4 with case but just one brush head for $52 and get $15 Walgreens cash.

I have Oral-B rechargeable toothbrush.
Is the IO series different from the one that had been around for so long now?

Yes, it has a lithium battery (vs nickel) and adds sonic tech (link the sonic care)

I've been using the oral B Genius for about 7-8 years now. No signs of weakness yet. Great product.

My concern with this one is that they changed the toothbrush head and there might not be as rich of a competitive aftermarket driving prices down.

Are you sure about the Sonic part? I read the description of the product and the specs and the additional information and nowhere it mentions anything about Sonic level vibrations.

I've been using various versions of the original one for years and years. Bought the Io 10 during the Prime sale and love it. It does a better job cleaning from the weeks that I've used it. Also bought an Io 3 from the Walgreens deal for travel.

Brush heads are more expensive, but I'll accept that trade off.

Perhaps I should give it a try since I definitely prefer my Phillips over the Oral-B toothbrush.
BTW, why is the IO so much better than the original one that they have had?
