Not sure if much of this still applies, but I bought an Omen a few years ago for $1750 (this is when parts were sky high and hard to get without paying an arm and a leg). It got really hot inside and airflow was nonexistent, no matter how much you played with fans. I even added a few fans and they didn't do anything. Ended up buying a new case and was shocked at how cheap the components were once I took it apart to put in the new case. The motherboard I never could figure out what model it was other than made in China. Power supply was cheap and flimsy. Video card was an HP branded Nvidia that also felt like a bottom-of the-barrel model, very thin, lightweight with minimal cooling. While the case looked nice, once I got inside, I was amazed by how cheap and flimsy it was. In the end I kept the cpu, ram, storage and video card and tossed everything else in the trash and just rebuilt everything. Felt like it wasn't even worth selling because I wouldn't even be able to tell someone what brand some of the components were, and the case felt like it was maybe worth $30.

Wow, the new design actually looks decent. Odd CPU choice for a higher-end gaming machine that has a dGPU.
It's basically the followup to the 7700. The G is just added cause it has included graphics. Kinda like the intel sku for integrated gfx. The 7700 and now 8700 are high-end system CPUs

The money factor is not terrible considering i've been pricing out builds with placeholder AM5 CPU's like the 7600/X w/ 4080 ..after Windows it hits this ballpark , while the 8700G is similar enough in performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E...V-3w&t=13s

I thought the 8700G was more of a beefed up mobile chip. It has a lot lower idle power draw than the normal AMD desktop CPUs.
would love to see a build with 64 gb memory or the unheard amount of 128 gb!
This is a gaming PC though and there is zero benefit going to 64 or 128 GB. You can upgrade it if you want to but I don't see a need for it to come standard and therefore jack the price
