I recommend anyone that is interested in this to look into the Canon loyalty program. We got this camera earlier in the year, new for $1600 thanks to that. I can't locate the previous SD post that mentioned it. I know that even if refurbished you can get an extra percent off. I know this isn't too useful, but worthwhile to look into it for anyone interested. It was super easy for us to just call, tell them you want to take advantage of the program, give them an old Canon camera's serial number.

I got this deal few weeks ago, called loyalty program and I got 5% discount. I thought its 10% but from what I read online the policy changed and they only giving 5% on discounted refurb (instant discount").

I got mine $1519 shipped and I'm very happy this R6mk2 coming from 6D.

I recommend anyone that is interested in this to look into the Canon loyalty program. We got this camera earlier in the year, new for $1600 thanks to that. I can't locate the previous SD post that mentioned it. I know that even if refurbished you can get an extra percent off. I know this isn't too useful, but worthwhile to look into it for anyone interested. It was super easy for us to just call, tell them you want to take advantage of the program, give them an old Canon camera's serial number.

How much of a discount? I ordered an R10 a couple years ago and am thinking of upgrading.

is this considered a trade in? or just a % off?

i have a 6d mark 2 that is honestly kinda slow for what i want

would like to upgrade/trade in

I've gotten 20% off a new camera and a new lense (two separate occasions), someone just stated 5%. I haven't done a refurbished order though. I did do the new lense this month though so I can confirm for new I got 20% off in Oct 2024

Editing to add that the 20% in October was for an item at full price. Another poster shared sale items are only 10% now per policy change.

Not a trade in as we didn't have to send anything in. You place the order via phone, they let you know your total discount and cost.

If it's 5% for refurbished and 20% for new, I would recommend people trying the loyalty program for new and get at $1600 (20% off the current $2000 price). That is how much I paid back in May. https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/eos-r6-mark-ii

Here is the number I called to ask for the program: 1-800-385-2155

editing my math as it seems policy has changed. Since item is on sale, you would only qualify for 10%off, so $1800 for new with loyalty program

No it's not. It's 10% off for new cameras with the policy change. I just did this with the R6 Mark II last month and the total came out to $1,799 + tax. I believe refurb is 5% but not completely sure. You have to provide the S/N of the old camera and verbally have to confirm it's broken and what the specific problem is.

R5m2 just dropped last August 2024, I dont think canon will drop another R5 anytime soon. you'll be lucky to get it on 2027.
