I agree--I've carried this knife for over a decade and I used to buy these 5-6 at a time when Amazon would do a flash sale for between $20-$37 per knife because i'd inevitably lose them. But these have genuinely doubled in price over the last few years.

of the many knives i own, this one is hands down my favorite edc. it's slim and light, but still has a decent-sized blade and holds a great edge. for $30 it's a no-brainer and a great gift. says me.

I like the Leek and $30 is pretty slick. Does anyone know what makes these "factory seconds"?

From the past thread, "Got one about 6 months ago and could not find a blemish on it." Though theoretically it should be a scratch/blemish, and no warranty.

Yeah, I worry it could be something non-obvious like heat treatment being out of spec. I would rather have a blemished blade than a blade that was brittle or did not hold its edge well.

One of the things that makes it a "factory second" is that it doesn't have any graphics or words on the blade.

Best knife under $100?! You must have been living under a rock for the past 5 years. You must have meant USA made knife under $100.. It USED to be the best knife under $40 before they inflated the prices and all the competition left them in the dust.

I got a factory seconds from Woot recently and it was a return item with use and wear, and I believe also a knockoff.

Yeah, these are great. Been my EDC for years. Goes great with any pant pocket. It's always been enough. So buy 4 for free shipping or pay $7. Decisions decisions...

Just be aware that the lifetime warranty doesn't apply to factory seconds.

Me to. With no warranty. But it is still made in USA. Tough choice for me.
