If you think Waze works better than a detector then you haven't used both at the same time. Waze is great, but not reliable.

Lasers are instant so you are farked but it can alert you to slow down right away which might help with dealing with the cop. Last 5/6 years of using this model I have only been lasered once, maybe twice. Most cops use the Ka band, sometimes k band, rarely x

Haven't been pulled over in 9 years since buying one. Was previously pulled over 1-2 times a year.

Nope. You would need something like the AL PRIORITY or Uniden R9 for laser. much more expensive, harder to install, and illegal in more states.

Unbeatable price for R7. For a detector with arrow, only dwarfed by R8 in terms of range, 379 is a steal.

Waze is great for populated roads. When you get to areas less traveled, Waze is virtually worthless because the entire premise is based on people sharing info with each other.


I just got the R7. It is clunky, but nice. The arrows arent the game changer everyone claims, but it is a nice little add-on. I got the R7 because my R3 is 5 years old and it was time to upgrade to latest tech and firmware. Ironically I just put my R3 on Ebay two days ago, they seem to hold their value VERY well.

R3 has been great for 5 years. R7 is nice so far.

Cant go wrong w these.
