I use this daily for work, no issues and great battery life. The only downside for me is the lack of forward/back buttons on the mouse, but at this price you can't complain.

It appears this connects with the supplied dongle and NOT the Unifying receiver, which is very nice for different mice and keyboards. I have several.

Correct. I have this same set I bought many years ago. Hard coded dongle for the set only, not the Unifying receiver.

this goes on sale pretty often on target.. i got mine for 17; got 3 for various pcs at home.. there's 2 variants it seems, the difference is the space bar uh spring/plastic... one type is trash, other seems newer and has way less wobble;; i couldnt find any identifiers to tell them apart.. but i returned the wobbly spacebar ones and luckily got replaced with the newer ones

It runs on AAA batteries, if it had backlighting you would have to keep changing the batteries. This way it lasts over a year. It only makes sense to have backlighting for USB rechargeable or wired keyboards.

Be aware this is a compact mouse. Might be fine for a child or if you're taking the mouse mobile like on a plane or something but I can't stand using the small mice at home. They just don't fit my hand comfortably.

I have this combo and the keyboard is great, but the mouse just sucks. It's too small and every time I left click, the whole thing makes a creaking sound. I had to use a different mouse, using 2 USB ports.

Great deal. I always, always stick with Logitech Keyboards. I like the touch. No, it isn't backlit. For me that is a plus, and as for mouse size, I much prefer the smaller ones, so the deal just gets better and better. The two keyboards I'm using now are both 5 years old, and still happily purring along. Might just grab this deal for a backup set.

True, I have this set and the batteries do last longer than a year. But I feel like now that there's good usb rechargeable AAA batteries it kinda makes the distinction between built-in rechargeable battery and AAA or AA less important. I just recently put the rechargeable in this keyboard, curious to see how long they last in there. Right now it's 6mo going strong.
