Do you know if this can be added with more RAM?
I'm not sure if how good is the processor...but it has a 512GB SSD which is great for the price for the whole system.
I got them for budget gaming for the kids. They should be solid up to a mid range gpu.
The g processors aren't the best for gaming. They don't have pcie 4.0 and have half the l3 cache this applies to the 5600g, 5700g, and the regular 5500.
Checkout this other thread, where people are posting that you can upgrade the power supply with compatible 500w models off eBay and you'd have a gaming machine ready to accept most mid tier graphics cards.
Being one of those scam corporations for non tech people ; there is likley other things. For instance my Dell nerfed the audio right when they stopped doing support at 2 years . Average Facebook, browseing people or spreadsheet users wouldn't notice things like audio latency being throw in before support was cut off. But it's more than the janky propritery landfill hardwares ability to hold a real power supply or motherboard that can support older video games that companies throw into these systems that can make them useless to computer users. An it doesn't matter how many Facebook users in threads don't mention other problems. Amazon an youtube an tv are filled with "experts" claiming junk is great. Doesn't mean it is.
Trusting one of these corporations for the masses is like trusting a crackhead you know already sold you baking soda at $50 a gram last week

Add something like a used 5700XT and you can enjoy virtually anything and everything @ 1440p. Not sure if the PSU will take it though. But if not, start with an RX 6400 and see if you can upgrade the PSU/GPU
No idea why the reference page for the Erica6 motherboard from HP is no longer available(?). Fortunately, you can still find the picture from HP[hp.com]. Memory could easily be expanded to 32GB (2x16GB) and should support 64GB (2x32GB).
The other system uses the Erica8 motherboard, but should be generally identical to the Erica6 (two DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of total RAM).
Although the inclusion of 16GB is functional for the purposes of Windows and plenty of use cases, the cost-saving installation of 16GB as a single DIMM does limit performance out of the box. This is especially true in a system designed around integrated graphics. The value of adding a second 16GB DDR4-3200 DIMM is probably[gamersnexus.net] a good day one consideration for this particular PC (though the linked article also confirms why HP was probably justified for the cost-cutting decision).
Good luck!

Thanks. I was guessing that consumer model=2 slots, business model=4 DIMM slots or 2 SODIMM slots based on the half dozen HP desktops I've owned and used at work. If someone really have a bunch of loose DIMMs then they are better off with an EliteDesk tower.
Hoping someone can help me out. My old desktop (14 years old) recently died on me (PSU died during outage). Was primarily using it to store and run my movies for plex off of. I'm assuming this will be be good enough for that? I also have an internal Hd with all my movies and music I'd like to install on it, would that work? Otherwise the average web browsing, occasional canva designing and YouTube is all it would be used for.

This PC is generally more than capable for your listed tasks. However, most Plex users prefer an Intel platform to leverage their hardware-accelerated features. Are you using such functionality today? If so, consider an equivalent Intel-based option.
Good luck!

I did not even think of that. You are absolutely right. Thank you!
