I'm pretty sure a standard RTX 2060 would physically fit in the case, but the power supply is anemic and has no extra pcie power connections. If you do a little digging I'm pretty sure you're only option is to replace that PSU with a generic 500 W or so unit off of eBay for around $100. These machines do not take a standard PSU so that is your only option. Personally I would not recommend even messing with that even though the price on this is tempting. I think an RTX 3050 6 GB GPU is the most powerful card this could handle without auxiliary power.

I'm reasonably sure these machines share a chassis with the "Pavilion Gaming" compact towers. Those have as standard (I think..) a ~275W PSU with ONE PCIe 8 pin. Given this is not a "gaming focused" machine, I would be very surprised if there were PCIe supplemental power connections.

Those of you looking for a more powerful power supply should check out this thread on the HP forum.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Des...-p/9073616

Unfortunately, the power supply is a proprietary one, but HP did produce a compatible 500W PSU (p/n: L81009-800) that has a 6 pin connector. It looks like it currently goes for $70-$80 on eBay.

Unplug the DVD rom drive and 2TB drive if you get some sata to pci-e adapter. Pray that doesnt fry your cables - put a fan on them. Run Furmark or some GPU test to see if it stutters.
Make sure those cables are not getting too warm.

Yes, this computer should be plenty for the office type tasks. I can't speak for its reliability, since I don't own one, but it is a good price for this spec.

The PSU discussion primarily applies to those who want to install a video card for gaming into this computer.

When a $275 PC is more appealing to you than a $2750 PC because of a DVD writer, you know the industry is porked.

Tempting, but in my experience HP is almost always going to give you problems...

This seems like a decent deal but proprietary stuff sucks. Anything goes out and you spend more than it's worth to replace. Service/support will suck

I'm not sure why, but so far everyone has failed to note that they make adapters for these "proprietary" power supplies.

For this particular one, the adapter can be found all over Amazon for around $10.

The only other consideration might be the non-standard form factor, in which you'd need an ATX case.

Done on a budget, an extra $100 to get it to standard ATX isn't the end of the world.
