do the "m4" base models still only have 1 fan inside? and cut mem bandwidth?

We probably won't know until there's some tear down and benchmark test posted. No one has their hands on the official released versions yet. We'll have to wait a week. I myself am waiting to see how much the M2's and M3's drop. That's where the slick deals will be. This blows those out the water and will hopefully kill demand. I'd be perfectly happy with an M2 MBP for sub $800.

Does anyone even have the M2 MBP new anymore? I have a hard time finding them online.

Costco has a 2yr warranty, it's a hassle. If this came with AppleCare+ which is common with Costco real sales, its easier process since its legit apple services. Also if you have the Costco credit card, Cashback

It's hard to say how this year's Mac event will go. Last year's MacBook sales weren't that great.

This may be as good as it gets. If you really want it, you could purchase now and if it does go on sale within a window of when you receive it, Costco will typically refund the difference.
