Just noticed this one has the NiMH battery, takes longer to charge with 45 min runtime.
The Li battery handles charge quicker with 1 hour runtime.

That's literally the name of the product, and it's 2024..who doesn't have a junk drawer full of charging blocks already?

I have coarse facial hair. It's the best and closest stubble length trimmer I've used. Also least painful, irritation. It works best with dry shaves. Also it misses spots in lower neck area. So I have to clean up with combo of rotary shave and blades with shaving cream . It takes long time to recharge which is semi hassle

This new generation one is more light weight and just doesn't feel as good as the original one blade that just felt more powerful and better to hold. I returned it and just bought replacement blades for my original one blade. iirc it was from Walmart

This or the Multigroom 5000 also for $19.99 at Target?
Quite different machines. Multigroom is a clipper sub, while One is a razor sub with additional guards. If you don't have a Multigroom, I'd skip the 5000 and get the 7000 model with much better build quality and more attachments, on sale now for $35 : https://slickdeals.net/f/17856990-philips-norelco-series-7000-multigroom-men-s-rechargeable-electric-trimmer-35?

I use this before I shave to make my razors last a lot longer. I would say a blade can be used for about 3-6 months depending on how often you shave.
I use this after using the multigroom to make the One's blades last longer Big Grin a blade lasts a couple of years for me!

how long do the blades last?
Not long enough IMO. I have one and it does a close shave, but the cost of the blades and also being almost 50 and not caring what other people think anymore I started using the Solo brand that doesn't cut nearly as close but the blades last forever. I'll buy more blades for the One Blade when there's another sale.

I know everyone will fight me for saying this, but I do not like the OneBlade. I have the 360 Pro. I find it to have a weak motor, terrible blades that neither cut hair close to the skin nor have any capability to use as an edger.

You will like this if you need a shaver that leaves a lot of stubble left behind. I know some people have severe issues with ingrown hairs and I imagine this will work well, as it does not cut closely at all.

I think he did it like this but its a slightly different model:

edit: You have to login to see the $2 Walmart cash offer
I have this walmart version that comes with the 3 edge guards. The biggest problem is the tabs on the edge guards eventually break and it costs about as much to buy just the edge guards as a new trimmer. So I end up just buying a new trimmer with new edge guards.

Completely wasteful.

Does anyone know if this version has a better edge guards that wont break so easily?

Yup NiMh batteries are good for a year then it's throwaway. I had Li version of this for 5 years and going strong.

I have the Braun version of this, and I hate it—pulls and irritates my skin. Is this one better than that?

So, if I want to leave like 3 day stubble constantly, this isn't right for that?
No you'd want something like the Conair(man) I-stubble which has a goofball name but works amazing.

Thanks. Went with the Philips Norelco 7000 on sale at Target for $35 & I'm pleased with the results.
