Costco.com has Casio PX-765CB digital piano for $649.99 after $200 off starting Friday November 1st, 2024. Shipping is free.
My understanding is that the PX-765CB is essentially the Costco version of PX-770.
There are three digital pianos that I am keeping my eye on:
- Costco.com's Casio PX-765CB
- Adorama's Casio PX-870 for $750 when on sale (
reference). That would be my first choice, but don't know when it will be on sale again. Also, that deal does not include bench.
- Costco's Roland frp Nuvola for $600 in-store / $680 online (
reference). This deal includes headphone and bench, and it has bluetooth. However, in the referenced thread, there are some comment indicating that the key return feels a little bit slow. I was at store, and the box is simply way too big to fit in a sedan. With shipping, it's more expensive than PX-765CB.
Full disclosure: I am buying this for my daughter who just began piano lessons, and I am not a player myself, so I can't provide any professional feedback.

For those who can wait for the 870 to go on sale again, it's much nicer. 40w speakers, half pedaling and string resonance. I would take those features over the bench that comes with this.
770/765 is still a great piano with the same tri sensor action as the 870. This model series has been around awhile, and the 765 doesn't seem to have any updates, but that's probably a good thing. The newer Casio slimline models have a flawed action.
PX-765CB has built-in metronome, I am reading mixed information on FRP Nuvola.
Some people say FRP Nuvola's key feels heavier (than acoustic piano), and young kids may get tired easily.
PX-765CB does not have key escapement, not sure if FRP Nuvola has it or not.
Roland is not the best for classical music, and definitely not the best for children or small hands. I would get the Casio, or look into Kawai or Yamaha. Casio will usually give the most bang for you buck even when they are not on sale. This model is fine for starting lessons.
