I wish they had this earlier because I got the Amex offer that expired yesterday.

Lowest price so far...

I really want something that works with the car alternator, so I can use my electric car battery to run my house. But in reality I want this as the middleman to charge my bigger Delta Pro Ultra since that supports 240 volt and will run my well pump, but then the question is can you charge one eco-flow battery with another eco-flow battery

I think we will see $499 on BF

lithium phosphate prices are in free fall. even goal zero has been dropping prices and they are usually the last to do so

Likewise. That was my immediate thought.

I sampled Wellbots two days ago but couldn't find anything to justify using that offer

Assuming that is a joke, but if not.. itll provide about 3.5 miles of range lol.

The better use case is to power a few circuits in your home with this and use the tesla to keep it topped off.

I'd bite at $499 but has this thing even shipped yet? I thought up until last week it said "pre-order". Wouldnt it be too soon for a drop that big?

Not long on the internal battery.

A few hundred dollars for 1+ kW solar panels supports slow charge at 5-15 miles per day, depending on location and vehicle.

Kinda. Sorta. Depends, but not really. The delta can do the xt150 ports. Unless I'm mistaken, there is no port on the ultra, and dunno what happens when you plug in only 120v as a power source

I don't have power at my land yet and have a well pump. I would like to avoid a loud generator. Can this be used to power the pump below

I ordered it earlier from EcoFlow directly and got it a few weeks ago. I use it primarily as an ups for my computer, because I hate the ups companies. It's pretty nice but seems to run a bit warm, but maybe that's just the nature of me running it pass-through. It's already saved me once during a snow storm outage.

For these batteries or larger ones for whole home back up, how do you do it? You aren't running extension cords around the whole house, correct? I was looking at the Tesla Powerwall 3 but saw some youtube videos where people had a few ECOFlows connected and did one connection into the garage that powered the whole house. Is that something you need to get installed first?

My main concern is having electricity for internet (so I can work if electricity fails), keeping food in fridge cold, and electricity for my Rinnai tankless water heater so I can still take a shower.

Trying to look at other (cheaper) options vs a Powerwall or Enphase battery.

A crap ton of money and a crap ton of many heavy battery units. I'm in the process of doing some battery and gas generator backups and I can share what I have learned. If you want to start this journey, the first thing you'll need is to decide if you want a simple interlock kit or dedicated subpanel. Then you will have a generator inlet installed (outside the house for a 50amp gas generator inlet). I'll go into more detail later.

To put things in perspective, the average household in Texas (for example) uses 36 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy each day. This Delta 3 plus is 1024 watt hours so you would need 36 of these units to meet that capacity. Of course that's for normal operations of everything in your house like an air conditioner. Don't even think about running a whole house air conditioner on batteries... unless you're a millionaire.

If your router/modem/laptop combine for about 100 watts, that's 10 hours you get from this 1024 Delta 3. A fridge could surge at 600 watts and then idle around 100-ish so that's even less time if you run everything together. The good thing is that if your power goes out, the fridge is still insulated so you can probably go a few hours before having to plug anything in.

The Tesla powerwall provides 13.5 kWh (13,500 watt hours) so it's like 13.5 of these Delta 3's. They're also like $9,000 each. If you have 2 powerwalls, you can probably power your house for almost one day in the summer and more in the winter. They are very sophisticated equipment and would probably have some hybrid inverter in your house that lets you switch to the powerwall power when you get an outage. For the heck of it I priced a Tesla solar system from their site and they recommended 3 powerwalls for me. Who the f can afford that? lol

The most straightforward way to get something like a Delta battery setup (or gas generator) to power your house is to first have an electrician install an interlock kit and a generator inlet. The interlock kit is just a metal plate that forces you to shut off the main power from the grid and let you then switch manually to your battery (or other source like a gas generator). For only using the Delta specifically, the electrician would have to install a 30amp inlet. Portable gas generators use 50amps, so if you have an electrician install a standard 50amp, you could get a 30 to 50 adapter to run from your Delta. I personally want the option of a large portable gas generator to run my air conditioner in the summer, and then using a battery backup for smaller outages when I just need a few things running.

If you want the more expensive route than the interlock, but still not as expensive as powerwall, you can get a 10 circuit panel which installs next to your main panel. It then lets you select 10 circuits from your main panel that will then receive power from your backup source. These panels are like $400-600 and probably $2k to install because of the complexity.

Some people just go with the interlock kit and then carefully power things manually during outages, whether with a portable gas generator or battery. I recently reached out for a quote for just an interlock kit and 1 inlet and they wanted over $1200... crazy how prices are now.

Invest in a stackable off grid inverter with generator hookup - you can add solar and batteries later. Better than just a generator hookup or sub panel.
