Seems like a good value in a nice form factor. No red flags except 16GB? Good find

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it had OLED. I don't get some of the decisions these companies are making. Why give it a 4070 and then gimp it with a non OLED screen.
It wouldn't be priced this way if it had an OLED now would it?

If you're looking for a QHD gaming laptop this is a slick deal on a very nice machine.

Most of the 4070/8845 class gaming laptops I have seen in this price range recently have been refurbished or come with FHD screens.

The only minor issue I see with this laptop is the 16GB ram, but if and when that becomes a limiting factor for you, you can upgrade the RAM in this machine up to 64GB.

Just bought one of these from micro center, $900 (open box). Only mine came with a 7435HS. Would be nice to have the newer processor but still really happy with it for the price.

You can likely actually upgrade to 96GB if you want; I ran that much in the previous 7840HS/4060 incarnation of this laptop without a hitch.

I'm curious what your use case was for 96GB in this type of laptop. Local LLMs? Video Editing? Just 'cause?

Yes. Video or photo editing or 3d rendering for sure.

But there will be some "enthusiasts" that'll say more RAM means more fps. 16GB is plenty for gamers these days. Maybe in the next couple of years 32GB will need to be the standard.

I'm glad this is not OLED which PWM is destroying everyone's eye sight.

Seems every year, the next gen tech bumps higher by at least $300 apples to apples. This is not sustainable..

How's the battery life in yours? I bought one too but had to return it because of the poor battery life.
