This game is really cool, hard to describe but maybe a rough around the edges game similar-ish to Far Cry 3 mechanics of mild looting / crafting, base liberating. No drug lords, just mindless killing machine robots that at first are scary as hell until you level up. Seriously, the first few hours in the game I'd get literally nervous (IRL) if I thought a robot was near...survival horror stuff in an open world FPS.....those SOB's would hunt you forever! After you level up then it starts to be more of a fair fight...most of the time.

I played about 30 hours until Steam decided to erase my cloud save and my local copy then sync'd with that

I didn't have any DLC so that entire 30 hours was just the base game which costs $1.

Plays perfect on the Steam Deck.

Game gets real repetitive really fast. I got about a solid 20 hours with a few friends before we realized the rest of the game will just be the same 20 hours over and over again. Could have been so much more

Finally bit the bullet on this game. Played the demo /early access way back when and it wasn't too bad.

Very underrated game. If you go in knowing what it is (and what it isn't), you'll likely enjoy it. I'd call it a guerrilla tactics-style, open-word shooter with some RPG elements. I often find myself cowering inside a home while one of the mechs shells my position. I'll pop out during reloads and get a few rockets/shots off, then back to hiding. It's intense, nerve-wracking, and a complete blast!

Did they ever revamp the revamp of med kit crafting issues? I remember med kits started out being too easy to make (I think it was 10 at a time) so they changed it to 1 at a time but didn't adjust the amount of resources you'd find in the game world to offset the change (cloth was in short supply if I recall). Feels like they should have split the different not a 10:1 change. I remember that being a major annoyance of mine but want to attempt the game again with the DLC's. I also played the game very run and gun so med kits were a major part of my gameplay style....which may be why I always ran out Wink

Does the DLC add anything to the game, or is it all cosmetic?

      -Alpine Unrest
      -FNIX Rising

Are both content add ons (no idea how much though). I think the guns DLCs are beyond just cosmetic however no idea how much different they are or if it is worth the upgrade.

I thought this game was a boring walking simulator. I was always over weight too.

There's a way to go back to a previous save version, generation zero keeps a backup in Steam Cloud:

Wow, that's amazing! My save wasn't there (was overwritten since then) but worth a try and great to know this is even a thing. Also pretty cool to see sooooooo many games I've played ;P

I enjoyed the game with my friend. We did coop through the whole campaign. Some fights against the bigger mechs can be fun. 5 bucks got us 40 hours or so until the end.

If you're overweight, try actual walking instead of simulating it. /s
