The iPad 11th gen is rumored to be launching soon and should be a massive upgrade. Rumors point to double the RAM (4GB to 8GB), double base storage, and a massive processor jump (A14 to A18).

We saw these massive jumps recently with the iPhone 16 (base model) and recent MacBook refresh. Apple is doing massive hardware jumps to allow their entire hardware lineup to be able to run AI.

With that said, it's hard to recommend the 10th gen iPad knowing the 11th gen is going to be such a huge difference unlike previous refreshes.

Sure but it's going to cost way more than $270.

I picked this iPad up a few months ago. It's been pretty solid no complaints at all. It would be nice the have a little more storage space but so far I've been able to download everything from I've needed for a trip and still had space left over. I'm sure someday I'll need to delete some things.
It plays all the games I've tried no problem but I'm not downloading the latest and greatest FPS to my iPad. USBC charging and the touch to unlock were nice features for me.

It won't be $270 and you have to wait, AI not really makes big difference now while it's being born, OLED or QD-OLED panel and 144 Hz with Dolby Atmos speakers would make a difference though…

Sure but it's going to cost way more than $270.

I picked this iPad up a few months ago. It's been pretty solid no complaints at all. It would be nice the have a little more storage space but so far I've been able to download everything from I've needed for a trip and still had space left over. I'm sure someday I'll need to delete some things.

The first Apple Intelligence features are out already and are handy actually, and will continue to improve.

iPads typically have a pretty long life, so unless you need a cheap one now, I'd wait for a deal on an older Air (M1 or later), or the next gen. Otherwise you'll be stuck with an iPad that can't run major features potentially for years.

Apple has been putting in 16gb into everything because ai needs it so I'd expect that unless they say it's their only device that doesn't support AI which I doubt. There's no reason for them not to bump specs other than being stingy. The ram and a 128gb drive is probably under $5 to add. Lol

A good idea to have if you switch to an Android phone. Prepaid users will be doing this more since all the newer iPhones have no sim tray. With an iPad you can still have access to your apple account while using Google on your Android device.
