Of the last dozen or so I've ordered in the past year, I'd say that about half show up within a few days. ~35% get backordered for ages (I'm two months waiting on one right now) and about 15% result in the dreaded "we're sorry, this item has been discontinued and is no longer available."
In my experience the Adorama reps are nice, but will not swap the same axe in a different color if it's backordered or discontinued.

But I would never recommend a Bigsby or Floyd Rose to a beginner.
