Buying this would be a mistake when the 7 is just $90 more, and gets you 2x the RAM, 2x the storage, and a much newer processor.

Waste of money … for $59 more, I'm buying the new Mini 7 w/2x RAM & 2X storage with discounted Apple gift cards, just wait a few weeks and buy discounted $100 Apple gift cards for 15-20% off at Best Buy, target, Amazon, etc., and a purchase this at the Apple education store at $449 and with gift card discounts pay around $368 net.
Nov - Dec I buy $1,100 of these every year. Discount given as store gift card and/or along with credit card rebate.

I would agree with this take. While the Mini 7 gets a lot of hate for what it didn't add to the line, the items above are consequential changes and worth the $90 if you're going to have it for a while, not to mention the updates/support that will last longer.

idk, isnt the ipad mini 7 on sale atm at 400$?
i thin it's worth~90 extra:
- soc bump
- storage bump to 128gb; from 64
- ram bump to 8gb; from 4gb

It's useful in my case. I need the pencil, too. I got a new pencil 2 from ebay for 35$, so the net after tax is about 360. I didn't see any cheap pencil pros, so even on sale, the 7 is 550 before tax for me. I don't need the extra storage, so as long as I can read pdfs and take notes, an extra 200$ doesn't make sense. Thanks for posting!

if you need this for something computer related I would highly suggest you buy a MacBook. If you try to replace a computer with an iPad you'll eventually buy both

Depends on your use case.. I don't have any intention of using any productivity tool on this... I need big screen for such work... this one is for pure YT ,browsing and some reading...

If you plan to keep you device for long , you should get 7. It will be supported way longer. 6 will not get all the updates from Apple like AI.
